OK, I don't feel bad buying a sub that only goes down to 20. :D

Best of luck tuning that beast!

My port is too long I checked with a couple programs, and I need to shorten it to 15 inches. I will be flat to 20, and then roll off real quick.

What did you use the measure the SPL? If you used the Radio Shack SPL Meter did you correct the values? If those are uncorrected values then you're more linear than you realize.

This is in a 24*24 room with 8' ceilings, with the sub in a corner. I have not yet played with the port. The reason I would play with the port is to mainly get rid of that huge bump from 30-45. I realize that I would lose some max dbl, but I would prefer a flatter response. I also realize that I would lose quit a bit at 15, and a bunch at 10. The speaker over travels at I am guessing 30-45 any way.
    What do you guys think?
    Thanks Ben

I think you need to increase the length of the port. Can you use WINisd? The bump between 30 and 45 could be corrected with a longer port. If you dont have Win ISD . Then shoot me over the size of your tube and size and length of your port. I can get the Theil specs from PE. I can put the info in my WINisd and see what it comes out to.

I was messing with WINisd, and the sononosub.exe programs. The sono sub program came up with shortening the tube to 15". I also feel that is rather drastic, so I was thinking 20" tube.

So you have it tuned way below 18hz. Did you try a port length of 20" or 18"? It just seems the port is kind of long. Or reverse the polarity of the speaker.

This is a read/out of a 9.45cuft with a 5.5" port 30" long. Port is way too long. I would think you need to cut about 7-10" off the length.

I was thinking of whacking 10" of the port, and if need be I can always add a coupling to increase it again. The Specs you are showing in the second thumb are way different than sonosub's, and the room measurements. I think what the are giving you is if the sub was out in an open field. I have to run to the hospital now. My 1 1/2 yo girl just jumped out of her crib at her mom's house, and landed on her head.
    I'll be back!
