I have decided to build a sonosub. I am using a Dayton Titanic 15" woofer Fs at 19.96, and 800watts nom. The amp I will be using is a bridged GFA-555 putting out 850 watts clean at 4 ohms. I will be using 18" sonotube, and I am using sonosub.exe for the design. The program already has the driver loaded into it. The subs overall height will be over 83 inches with end caps included. I am starting this project tonight. I should be done Thursday. :D
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks
Ben

I just finished making the circle pieces for the top, and the bases. I am making a top kinda like a chimney top so the whole thing will be symmetrical. I want to veneer the thing, but I would need 2 sheets to do it. It will have almost a 64 inch circumference.

You should paint it flesh colored, with a purple stained top....see if anyone gets it.

Well just finished gluing the inner baffles together. Woofer will be here Thursday. I'm working on the tube tonight, and the caps, and the port.

Maybe I should put a 1.5x8" port in the side about 36" from the floor? Can anyone recommend good port lube? :o

I think a 10hz test tone would provide a happy ending to that movie.

Well I have the girls today. Ashley, and JJ. 3 1/2, and 1 1/2. I gotta see if i can get away with doing some sanding, and painting. My woofer is on the truck for shipping. I have to make the legs, and finish the bottom plate. I'm thinking about using undercoating for the finish on the tube after I paint it.

Local hardware store. 18"x12' $35. If you want you can come over and have the other half. That is if I don't make a second!
It's still a little wet. Got it in just before the rain storm!

Project is looking great. No hardware store around here carries that (I dont think)

I'm trying to find one that about 14" x 4'. For an SVS 12.1. I'm trying to figure how to mount my Rythmik Audio plate amp to it. I will prpbably have to buid a seperate housing for the amp.

But yours looks great. I cant wait to hear from you about sound quality.

    Jake

P.S. Looks like my kind of shop too...;)

check with concrete supply places. That's where I got my tube when I built my sonosub. Mine was even priced by the foot.
    Sony KDL-40V2500 HDTV, Rotel RSX-1067 Receiver, Sony BDP-S550 Blu-ray, Slim Devices Squeezebox, Polk RTi6, CSi3 & R15, DIY sub with Atlas 15

Also use sonosub.exe for calculations. I will be able to do some test tonight to see how flat it is with a sweep.
