Nice, Glad your enjoying it. What about the kids? Do they like it? My kids love the 15" Velo and the 10/12" Velo.
They sure do. I had Ashley put her hands on the wall while playing on of those bass disk, and she says "why is the wall moving?". No it wasn't excessively loud. I do care about those little ears.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Actually I haven't modified the port yet. Most Music, and movies are set up not to go super deep, and I can't really hear below 30hz anyways. I should whack 10 inches off the port to flatten the hump a little, but I do run the SDA-SRS's which I set at 40-60 anyways. It just sounds to good to mess with. Also a concern is if I shorten it will there be more turbulence in the pipe?

Lowest bass is felt more then heard. Just drive next to a car with bass driving loud. You probably hear the car rattles better then low bass. LOLengtaz

Catastrophe. The cone had separated from the voice coil. SonoSub had recommended a volume of 10 cubic feet. Parts express said 6. Now they are talking about charging me for the replacement of the woofer. To me it looks like the glue failed that holds the cone to the voice coil. I don't know I'll see what they say.

They are trying to blame it on a large volume cabinet. I have never seen the paper cone separate from th voice coil in such a manner. It has left a bad taste in my mouth. We'll see.Please. Free air is free air, it shouldnt matter what cuft you have. A ported system has little to no resistance on the driver. Its not like a sealed incloser that has preasure to stop the driver. The spider coils do that. From what I understand.Monitor 7b's front

Well parts express contacted me today to tell me that they would not be warrantying my sub woofer. They stated that the box was to big. I had had this for only about 30 days, and the cone had separated during WOTW. It is rated at 800 watts RMS 1200 peak. I was putting 350 to it with Adcom power. the distortion lights barely flickered, and the sub stopped working.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. How did the subject of enclosure get brought up?
They asked for my box parameters, and I didn't think that running at 350 watts would kill a 800watt RMS woofer!
Is there anyway you could pull up a max SPL reading on my sub with win ISD. I can't seem to find how to do it. They are recommending that I use a 5.8 ft box with a 4 inch port at 14 inches to get a fairly flat curve from 25, and up.

Well I would have to say Dayton blows then , you know if you did this a second time I could see them not warrantying it . But first time whether its a 5 cube ported or a 10 cube ported driver doesnt know much difference theres no real resistance only mechanical q from the driver. " He who dies with the most equipment wins Right ? I am just stuck at do I want to invest in a woofer that I can only power at half throttle (which is plenty for movies) and cough up the $125 clams, or pay double to triple to really put out what I want. My SDA-SRSs go down to 40 pretty darn good.

I wouldn't satnd for this from PE. I'd go as far up the ladder as you have to. It's completely bogus and you need to be the squeaky wheel. I don't do alot with PE, but they have been my prefered choice so far. Let them know you are involved in on-line communities that do alot of DIY and that you now can't rec. PE. I certainly wouldn't mention any names of specific sites like CP or DIYAUDIO, etc. But let them know you very unhappy with their service and you have no choice but to let others know of possible problems getting things taken care of at PE. Don't threaten, kust politely mention it ina concerning way.

I already put out the $125 to get the replacement. I did spend quit a bit of time with them. Sales manager, and techs. The thing that gets me is the cone broke at the base near the voice coil. The paper tore. So when the paper tore it obviously scarped the insulation on the voice coil, and burnt part of it. I have never seen a driver come apart this way. I got the new driver today. I hope I have better luck with it. I have fried speakers over the years, but this one was definitely defective.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. I've been an active member on the PE forums for years and I've seen them do insane things to make customers happy. I can't believe they wouldn't help you out. I would DEFINATELY post about this over on their forums (you don't have to register to post, which is nice).
