Didn't know that the cotton reels were not a thing over here. Knew about conkers which made sense as not so many horse chestnuts over here. You live and learn. -

So a member here at CP and I were chatting last night, talking about doing repairs and installing things in the crawlspace. I told him that the last time I was down there for a couple of hours, I couldn't walk right, sit or stand right for a week. 54 year olds are not built for crawl spaces. He's much younger than I and he was explaining to me what he did to his own crawl space....basically saying that it was no fun for him either. He went on to state, and I quote, "There's moments where you lay there pondering life choices".
LOL. I freakin' busted a gut....'cause I knew exactly what he meant. Been there, done that.

Ya, know. I feel like I am finally getting old. Back in my youth, eggs and toilet paper were so plentiful, we used to share them with the houses and trees of our friends and enemies without taking out a second mortgage or searching the town for enough to execute the grand plan.

Yeah,
Get licks in school.
They call your parents and you get more licks when you get home.
Don't recall what I did, but I wound up in the principal's office and given a choice. He ether calls my parents or I get the paddle...I instantly bent over!Yep, my name really is Bob.

Your drinking shots of Prune Juice and self administering those cheap **** kits you get at Walgreens every morning for fear of constipation that the Opiods that was prescribed have a tendency of doing.
I had a total Knee replacement last Monday and the pain from the surgery and the tourniquet they used to stop the bleeding during the procedure is just unbearable. A couple of days of tossing back those pills got me so backed up all I could think of is what happened to Elvis Presley with his issue of getting stopped up from those damn things. I somehow was able to free myself from that predicament and now I'm throwing back softners laxatives eating fiber only food with prune juice chasers for fear that the stopping up returns yeah at soon to be 63 I realized I'm an old f..k. How long does this pain last I'm miserable.
The only comfort I have is a pair of Senheisers and Streaming The new Iggy Pop live at Montreaux 2023 hoping I can move around like a Man of his age I believe
hes got 12 years on me, performing 5 foot 1 hope I'm as mobile as he is after this here knee heals up.🤣https://youtu.be/0izSnxuitJc?si=Gvz2-gW_dL_EdwNS
Look at him go Iggys the man wonder if he ever had a total knee replacement? I've been wearing out this live recording all week kind of brings a little pick me up being bed ridden!!!Home Theater

Well posting early this morning, delirous from the pain l came across this comment. I honestly can't remember a time I've been to an Iggy Pop, show where the dude has not tore off the black leather vest ist or 2nd song into the set and that goes back years. I agree at 77 years old sporting a flesh colored compression shirt might be more appropriate! Hmm at 77 dude's got 14 years on me. I guess I dont mind watching Iggy do his thing on stage cause I sprung for the CD Blu Ray set, I should be watching Iggy do his thing at the Montreaux in 23 come this Thursday evening tearing the house down.😁Home Theater

You know you're old when you still have a ceiling fan with a pull string.
I prefer the ones with pull strings. No remote to lose. I still would buy new ones with manual pull controls. -
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

You know you're old when you still have a ceiling fan with a pull string.________________________________
You know you're old when you still have a ceiling fan with a pull string, plus ...
... it's an original Hunter fan made of cast iron with copper windings (before electronic motors). Purchased from an independent hardware store prior to Home Depot opening in 1979. Most likely made in USA.
... ceiling fans were first used mainly outside doorways to keep flies from entering a business. It was difficult to find a fan to put on a screen porch and in your house at that time.
In case I needed to replace a fan, I have an extra Hunter cast iron fan still in the box that was never opened and installed. This one was purchased at Home Depot. Home Depot probably caused the independent hardware store to close later.
Really feeling old now that I realize I shopped regularly at Home Depot Store #3 when there was only three Home Depot stores total. Store #3 opened in late 1979 and was in Marietta GA on US HWY 41 - 9 miles and not much traffic from my house. The original three stores were in converted Treasure Island buildings (Penny's ). Now there are 2300+ stores.
