You know you are old when you used to "watch" NASCAR races on the radio.

BITD, there were only two televised NASCAR races on ABC. IIRC, they were the opening Daytona Race and Talladega. Sometimes, they would only show portions of the race.....so I would race down to my room and continue "watching" the race on the radio. I seem to remember Darlington being televised on occasion as well but it wasn't advertised/promoted like Daytona was (at least in our neck of the woods).

    Tom

I remember watching races on tv, and if the race went long because of too many caution laps (or a red-flag period) they’d cut away at the end to play whatever came on next.

Come to think of it - has anyone mentioned cargo pants yet?
Or the phenomenon of more years on the planet correlating with more pockets in one's wardrobe choices?
On any given day, my default dress includes cargo pants :# a shirt with pocket(s), and, in the cool months, some sort of fleece kinda deal with at least hand pockets and a chest pocket -- ideally an inside set and an outside set.
    Lotsa pockets!
The downside of this: combining many pockets and old age usually means - at least for me - a search for what things are in what pockets whenever any of the contents of said pockets might be needed for something. :p

Uh, that sounds a bit pockety to me. I utilize four pockets.....keys and pocketknife/front pockets, card container and Copenhagen/back pockets.........none of my T-shirts have pockets.

I Love my "slip-ins". So does Sugar Ray Leonard. :D

I also love my "White" New Balance sneakers.

Had a man tell me he'd NEVER wear white sneakers EVER.

I'm old and don't try to ignore it.

I like the idea of 15.00 stretch laces compared to 70.00 Sketcher Slip-ins though.

I got more "licks" in JR High than I can remember. Licks for fighting, licks for tapping a guy between the eyes (wearing goggles) with a yard stick while using the bandsaw in wood shop and licks for grades too low, from the coaches. Back then we ran track, played football and basketball.

Whenever my gf teases me for not having much of an azz, I tell her it got spanked off in jr high with special boards made in wood shop

I recall our AP in high school still used a paddle occasionally, but I think he preferred to use In School Suspension, which also resulted in a 1/3 grade drop for every class for each day. For most, that was more effective. But yeah, in middle school, every teach had one, and a few really enjoyed using them.

I'm not a fan of the style. I have 3 pairs of Stan Smith, some Vans that I use them on. I don't really like wearing running/ athletic shoes unless doing activities. I prefer a casual sneaker look. I don't use them either on my 5/10 mountain biking shoes either. We started buying the laces for our kids when they were young. Then one day I thought geez why wouldn't I use them makes everything so much easier.

^^^ That is crazy. I could drive my dad's car and buy beer for him at this one ice-house at age 15. Of course, legal age in Texas was 18 at the time, but I assure you, I did not look 18 at age 15.......I don't think I did :o
