Damn. I just read that review and many of his points (most of them, actually) mimic my personal observations thus far.

Now to change up some chit!

    I love this hobby!!!!

    'Till the next episode....

Keep in mind, I already have 5 Puron's on the same circuit, along with other devices to thwart noise. This one?

I don't know if it was a cumulative effect or the icing on the cake but as mentioned? Tommy like. The end result as to what hits your ears is awesome.

When I do the things that I am planning on? I'll be able to hear the vinyl rig as well. Looking forward to that!

I appreciate your mentioning that review. Thanks.

I finally picked up an amplifier stand for the Threshold Stasis2. This is an Adona stand with an add on shelf for future possibilities.

I spent the 10 seconds necessary to switch power supplies on my Fosi class d amp. The smaller 32 volt ps keeps the Fosi at room temp while the 48 volt unit causes it to run warm on it's 4ohm load.

No offense, but isn't that amp facing the wrong direction? Sideways.

Interesting! Is there any change in sq with the bigger power supply?

@WilliamM2 Yes it is. My room is too cramped to put the amplifier in its ideal location and proper orientation, unfortunately. These are the woes of living in a 300 year old 900 square foot living space house...

I was hoping to hear one but if there is any change I can't hear it. In addition to less heat the smaller ps also gives a more linear control to the volume knob which is helpful.

Curiosity is getting the better of me, based upon my experience with isolation/racks. Did you hear a difference in your playback when this was installed?

Oh, may manners.....congratulations! That thing is STOUT.

    @treitz3 ,
I found that amp stand on a FB Marketplace listing at a price that I couldn't pass up. Like 10% of new retail. It is heavy! I think the leg tubes are filled with sand. The shelves were missing, so I purchased a couple cutting boards until I can get some granite shelves cut.

In regards to audible changes, the change was subtle. I didn't notice a increase in frequency range, sound stage or anything like that, but I did notice a change (increase) in dynamics. Like the amplifier needed less effort to do what it does. I attribute that to better air convection and maybe a little less capacitive coupling to the carpeted floor. It's nearly impossible to do an A to B comparison, so maybe there was a slight tonal change, but this amplifier is 110 pounds, the stand is at least 30 pounds, and I'm not moving it again to find out.

Awesome. It's things like this that make up a cumulative effort to the end result as to what hits your ears.

I noticed the same thing with mine (although it only held a DAC).

    Congratulations!

Hard surfaces tend to have a distinct cold sound, as to where wood has a warmer sound. FYI.

For an in-depth review, check out Vade Forrester's for Absolute Sound: https://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/ayon-audio-crossfire-iii-pa-power-amplifier/

My experience has been one of those OMG moments. Yes it is a bit flashy but it backs up the bling with real substance. The build quality is top shelf and the auto biasing makes living with it very easy. My system has been raised several levels. It is like when you hear music coming from another room and it sounds nice. Then when you walk into that room, the music opens up and you are in it. There is incredible detail and depth. Add to that, real dynamic bass. I never knew my speakers could sound like this. Bass with punch from a SET amp. I am loving it.

Normally, I do edit those out, but these are so pretty, why not keep it going?
I find it more annoying to see posts from certain forum members that have a signature that takes up half a page, or, a certain someone who doesn't seem to understand how to use the enter/return key and uses it after every line.

I think you and my brother cruise the same horn/SET shopping channels. He's RadioX over at AK.
