^ That way you wouldn't loose your place at the bar when things were crowded. Back then the "mens" was probably in an outhouse in the back. Plus the bar keep spat in the beer mugs and wiped with a bar rag to get those troublesome smudges off. Ah, the good ole days!
The combination of the urine trough, cheap cigars, limited personal hygiene and kerosene lamp smell must have added to the ambience.

Back in the early 80's we lived in Aurora, IL. There was a stand-up bar nearby the house, can't recall the name. No women allowed as it reduced bar fights and there were no bar stools. If you couldn't stand you didn't drink.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 *

In the early 80’s I lived in NJ. One Saturday I was with my buddy and his dad, and We were drinking all day at his uncles bar in Chester. On the way home we stopped at this little bar in the middle of nowhere, called the River Styx. The entire bar had a dirt floor.See my profile for list of gear.

But....if you transfer $4,500.00 today to cover his cost to ship all that money to you? It's all yours!
Not to fret. I still know how to contact him. My nominal fee is only 1.6K. Chump change after you get your money! PM me for more details...

Saw that on ASR. I've encountered it before someplace (heck, maybe earlier in this very thread) but its wry understatement made me chuckle, so I figured I'd share.

Hey guys, need some advice. Which one of these would you go with as the most professional looking avatar to use in Microsoft Teams for work? Something that'll really impress the bosses.

I figured there was a back story -- but the image was story enough.
It was a nice plane, too -- a Piper Comanache.
If the arrows were removed, and if it were flightworthy, it would, presumably whistle when it flew.

Therefore, presumably, alerting any deer in its path. Well, maybe reindeer.

@[Deleted User] Your friend’s buddy’s Porsche is very, very nice. I wonder what it is worth these days.

When it flew towards the Gates of Dawn? As long as it's not a (bag)Piper. -
