Finally got the L200s installed in the garage! 1.5" maple butcher block, and 2 x 8's behind the drywall in between the studs for secure mounting of the brackets.

Did some re-arranging in the basement and made a nice little niche at the far end for my secondary rig.
1C's running now, but can easily swap out for others!
Also currently hooked up is the VTL pre and CJ amp, clean power from a Shunyata conditioner, and Marantz CDP.
Have not re-arranged the wall art yet !!!

View from across the basement. This really opens up the room when guest are over, but also allows me to place a nice comfy chair in the sweet spot when doing critical listening.
Still wip, but I try to get down to the basement as much as I can, despite all the other projects going on, and work, to enjoy my newly configured big rig!

The design goal of under 1.00" full sandwich height was achieved as well as 3" rad. and 2.5" OD will handle even the heaviest SDAs...

Did you hold them in a sacrificial soft jawed chuck which you bored to the same O.D. as the blanks? How did you do the outer diameters of the blanks? Looking good!George / NJ

Finally got this turntable setup up-and-running. It is a Denon DP-3000 turntable motor, on a DK-110 plinth. Tonearm is a Micro Seiki MA-505L.
I've had the MA-505L arm awhile, but struggled to find an adequate base/plinth to accommodate it, since it is a 12" arm. The arm did technically fit on my Technics SH-15B2 plinth, with an SP-25 motor unit, but it would rub the inside of the dustcover when closed...not ideal.
I bought this Denon motor/plinth from a Japanese Yahoo auction, and used a Japanese-based third party outfit to handle shipping/handling. The process actually went very smoothly.
Anyway, I did have to drill a new 270mm pivot-to-spindle hole in the armboard. In this pic, you can see here the original tonearm hole, which I suppose(?) I need to cover. FWIW, I used a Forstner bit to drill my new hole...it is much cleaner
As mentioned, I purchased this tt unit from Japan, so I also had to obtain a 120>100VAC converter in order to properly power the tt. I bought this 'umi' brand unit off Amazon.
In the end, I am quite happy with this setup This Denon direct-drive motor works flawlessly, although I did have to replace the 33 speed indicator lamp/bulb. The motor is (only) servo-controlled (vs quartz), but my unit holds perfect speed, so no complaints. Very nice. I am and always have been a friend of Denon tables. Mr Spock. P.S. I mean the platters and plinths, not the Denon arms which are usually the weak link. Getting just the motor unit and plinth like you did and mounting a separate arm is the way to go.
