Sent you one back.Yep, Tony is correct, they are mine. I just need to sell these, and some more audio gear, to make room for some open baffle kits I am building. Time to try something new. I also need to list the parts for a dreadnought I never built for the Polks. I ended up buying an amp that was compatible. Thanks to all on here for the tips and advice on these Polks!

Bedroom system: Carver CT-24, Parasound HCA-800II, Monitor 10's

I like how some of the older Polk models that were sold were 4 ohm. According to this "http://www.hifi-classic.net/review/polk-audio-rta-12b-339.html" they dipped down to 3 ohms. Expensive for the time at 1000.00 a set. M.P. knew what he was doing. He knew some of us just had to have big 200wpc plus high current amplifiers and made the speakers accordingly. He also knew if we did not have that kinda amp... we would be looking to get one !

No riser on the bottom so maybe someone swapped in SL2000's and lost the diffraction spoilers in the process. You can tell they have been used hard..

Thanks guys! Dumb question, does $225 sound reasonable if the MW's aren't siezed? These are a 300 mile drive round trip if I go for it. A fun spring restoration project!

Ask him for more pics of the front (with grills off) and pics of the rear. $225 could be a good price depending on what model they are.

They always kind of looked cool to me but no way I would buy them for my use.

Yeah I think I'll pass, more so because my Yamaha's 100 wpc would have to be replaced with a high dollar unit to drive these. I've actually been on the hunt for some M 7's or RTA 11's to replace my rebuilt M 5's which aren't bad with a sub. Just want a little more sound to fill 500 sq. feet.

Good call, they are 4ohm speakers and ride at about 3ohm most of the time. They are very demanding of current. -
