If I not mistaken (as if !) that's the beginnings of a mimosa tree.

Also known as a pu...uh....😳....mimosa tree

:) Naah, it's a fern. No mimosas up here. We do get purple vetch, which is kind of evocative of the sensitive mimosa in appearance.

    I love those Hellcats.
As a kid, my favorite model plane that I built was the Hellcat.
The blue plastic made it special.

Reminds me of another of my favorite places.

The yard here at the ol' shack looks pretty good when it's fresh cut this time of year.
Not "golf course" good, but it looks good to me. :)

It only looks like that about two months a year though, the rest of the time it's white.

Kidding of course. Always jealous! ;)

Years ago, if it wasn't for weeds, I'd have sand for a yard. :'( A few of us posted our southern lawns which have a lot of sand just below the surface or even make up the surface in some places.

After years of sowing seeds and trying to grow grass , my yard is getting there. More grass than weeds now. :)

We just received over 6"s of rain the past 7 days I think. It was like a steroid drenching for our lawns.

The grass is in "grow-and-spread" mode now. B)

There's (much) worse stuff than clover in there -- I like clover, 'cept for steppin' on honeybees when the flowers bloom :#

It was an incredibly gorgeous day here today -- 'Chamber of Commerce weather' as the forecasters on VPR like to call it.

Had to go the Urgent Care clinic yesterday for a scratch on back of hand that had swollen and was very red. Wolfgang drew the blood two days ago. Five days of antibiotics for me.

    Wolfie!

PS Wolfgang is an excellent name for a cat. Old Possum would doubtless approve.

Exactly !! All kinds of gremlins in that festival of fun... Then they come out and walk on your table and countertop...
The two cats that owned me learned quickly I don't play that game.

Remind me to tell you all the bittersweet tale of Sparesie (The Spare Cat) some time. Sparesie adopted us when we lived in MA. At the time, we already had a cat -- the redoubtable Griswold -- thus his nickname. His given name was Gingivere (from the Redwall series, courtesy of our daughter).

Hint: his eyes aren't closed in the photo above... by that point in his life, he didn't have any. And that's just the start of his tail tale.

Sweet cat, but "lucky" isn't an adjective one would use to describe him. :|

So true!!! I probably have a couple hundred to keep track of. Many now want you to change them every 60-90 days. Can't repeat any words used in the last three passwords....

    That's a big 10-4.
Mary Herrera Heredia -- or at least so the poster claimed. By all appearances, it was indeed she.

Tony, he does not go outside.

He got me in two places. One place on the wrist bone of left hand really bled. The other scratch was on the back of same hand; it did not bleed one drop. The injury that did not bleed seemed to be the problem.

    Thanks for the info.

    What you just described might be similar to what happened to one of our cats. Here's why;

A long time ago...one of our cats got into a fight outside. A couple of days later, he was not himself at all. Took him to the vet.

The vet said he had an infection on his back.

The vet said he had a few wounds and that's why he was infected. It seems bacteria like to have 2 or more wounds to interact with.

Maybe your 2 wounds close to each other created an environment our vet described to us years ago. :|
