    How do you keep that black lacquer clean and shiny? Instructions say not to use waxes, or cleaners. Totally not related to the thread, I know. Sorry

    Dust multiple times weekly. Hardly ever clean with cloth.

    Here are some shots of my secondary system I set up in our finished basement. The room is approximately 25’x16’. The gear consists of; Graham Chartwell LS3/5’s,a pair of Monarchy Audio sm70mkII’s,Promitheus TVC passive preamp,Beresford Bushmaster MK II DAC,Bluesound Node 2,and a pair of Rockville subs I picked up on Epay for $66 a piece! This is a stream only system,that I feel sounds pretty good.

    Tell us more about those Rockville subs ($66 wow). And what is that in the middle near the floor....an air cleaner?

    The thing in the center is an electric fireplace to warm things up in the winter.
    The Rockville subs are 8”,the were open box specials! Normally the seller has them new for $99,and free shipping. Definitely not on the same planet as REL,but they work.

    Dang, under $100 each! Forget those premium soundbars. Next time someone asks me about one of those I'm going to tell them to get some Elacs, an Onkyo receiver and dual subs. $650 all in and all new.
    Won't be the epitome of hifi, but I'm sure that would blow the average soundbar shopper away.

    If I see a couple more @ $66 I’m going to snag them for the rear of HT in the basement. I have a pair of Def Tech supercube 2000’s in the front. 4 subs is definitely the way to go for nice smooth even bass.

    Schematic came from Bob, but the design work of the chassis was all mine. The picture is Bob Carver with the nearly completed amplifier.

    Thanks, haha. Things have crossed the “obsessive” threshold, so with good intentions of “doing better” I sold the 1C's, 2B's and the 5B's since that photo was taken. However, another pair of 7B’s with Peerless and another pair of 3.1’s somehow ended up in my garage... planning on refurbing them and reselling soon. The 7B's will be getting mahogany veneer and a crossover update. Then I’ll compare them to my modded 7C's and decide which pair gets to stay. My other pair of 7B's will be up for sale soon. Just need new grille cloth and a little TLC. Once all that is done, will put me down to a total of 10 pair of vintage Polks left here. I still am hoping to wrangle myself up the pair of 2.3TL's from Idaho, but I’m afraid my friend @theycallmechad has fallen in love with them. Currently I’m working on a pretty epic subwoofer build (JL 12W7-AE and two 15” PR's in a 4cuft enclosure) that I’ll document in another thread. Then new crossovers for the Talon Khorus pair. Then... It never ends. But it keeps me out of the bar (and my wallet empty...) 🤘🏻🤘🏻

    @JayMX You’re putting a 3 ohm car sub in an enclosure with two fifteens? For home use?? I’d call that epic. My car audio guy has told me in the past not to have different size subs in one enclosure, because of a difference in excursion, and some other potential issues. Says the sound gets muddy.
    I’d love to hear that when done, as I’m a big fan of JL subs.
