Polk put holes in the domes for their tweeters with a soldering iron. To me something looks a little odd/off on the dome on that one. -
I noticed that the texture of the dome looked different, like maybe it was lacking in doping. Here's another one that might be Danish made. It's a 3514XXXX, but perhaps that was just Infinity's numbers vs Polk's 7514XXXX. It certainly looks just like the ones in my 7Bs, sans the hole again. I have heard it said that the hole was so that they wouldn't be damaged by air pressure changes during air shipment. Seems plausible but I still wonder.

A PR "emulates" the volume of the port in a bass reflex (BR) enclosure. The moving mass of the PR, in theory, should equal the mass of air contained in the volume of an equivalent BR enclosure's port. In practice, the moving mass of the PR is tuned with added mass* to provide the desired system resonance.
___________
* A storebought 'generic' PR often has a threaded rod in the center of its diaphragm and mass can be adjusted by adding nuts to the bolt. At least, that was common practice a decade or two ago.
FWIW, here's a passel of modern off the shelf PRs if you're interested/curious:

One is fully functional, the other one has a blown tweeter and torn surround on the PR. Located in NYC area, or can be shipped.
I have sent the seller a couple messages and he has been very responsive. He was going to send me some better pictures soon of the individual drivers, but they appear to be silver basket MW6500s. -

The speakers are really close to me at about 6.5 miles, but I don't know anyone that close who posts on the Polk Forum.
(History Note: I live off of Post Oak Tritt. The "Tritt" in the Road name is of the "Travis Tritt" Family. About two miles west on the above map is a large parcel of land where the Tritt Family settled in Cobb County. The land was sold and developed in the 80's and 90's. Running through the development is Tritt Homestead Drive with an updated version of the original farm house as a community center. When I moved to this area in 1971, there were only 4 or 5 developments in all of East Cobb county. Many times as I drove to work in the spring months of the early 70's where the original farm house stood, I saw the older members of the Tritt family working in their garden. A one lane bridge on Post Oak Tritt caused many problems every Saturday night. Cobb County is crowded now of course. )"Sometimes you have to look to the past to understand where you are going in the future"

Mike,
No, according to the media he lives in Hiram GA which is about 23 miles west. It is still somewhat rural but growing fast.
I grew up about 40 miles west of Marietta GA.

Polk 2.3TL, no affiliation.
Says that he is the original owner and has the packing boxes. His price is $799.

Great deal here and they look to be in nice condition. I would be all over them if they were on the East Coast (I am in NY) as I have been looking for a pair of 2.3TLs for quite sime time. It seems that any 2.3TLs that pop up for sale lately are on the West Coast. Hope a Western Polkie can grab these.

I just picked these up. He did have the original boxes. He was the original owner with receipts in hand. Very nice guy. The speakers are in good condition and although they I was not able to demo them I doubt they are damaged in any way.
