    I think Most Nebraska & North Dakota people call it runza but they add cheese inside it. I manly us just ground beef, cabbage, onions, salt, pepper, touch of worcestershire sauce and Caraway seeds... which the seeds give it that licorice/anise taste. but the made from scratch dough ( the same i use for Dinner rolls) with Gravy on top is key for me :)

    growing up it was serve in Grade school, Jr.High & High School...and their was many Local Beirocks places in Wichita for awhile!

    I hear it was mostly brought over buy Russian/Germany immigrants..also the Polish have some just like it! the Mexican 's have their empanadas?

    With the upcoming pork and beef shortages, I need to ration, good thing I got plenty of Venison, Pheasant and Duck, walleye and Crappie filets in the freezer come Thusday night, I will start marinating some Vension steaks for throwing on the grill this weekend mmmm mmmm.

    Leftover filet mignon and some mushroom I found out in the yard. Possibly some type of meadow mushroom. Very good combo! Cooked in butter and olive oil. Made me kind of fajita meat. then added blue cheese dressing and lettuce with a flower tortilla wrap. YUM!

    My mom gave me some bone-in ribeyes for my birthday, finally had a chance to do them up right today with a balsamic glaze and shrimp scampi over pasta. Was so excited to dig in I almost forgot to take a picture for dear old Mother.
