    Normally I don't respond when people use that annoying "mention" feature, but in this case, I will make an exception. :p

    It is a "hub dust cap/cover" or a "wheel bearing dust cap/cover". It fits over that little hole in the center of the wheel. I highly recommend getting some, especially in the winter. They are about $4 on the internet.

    Is there a collar on the back side of the alloy wheels that fits into that center part? If not, you are still going to get salt in there.

    There is usually a notch in the threaded hub (to facilitate a cotter pin) that would/might allow salt to get into the wheel bearing, which would $uck goat appendages. :p

    Magnesium chloride has the same affect as salt on a car.

    It doesn't appear that those wheels would prevent anything from getting in there. That plastic wheel center insert wouldn't cut it. There is just no real seal there.

    What year and model is it? I wonder if dust caps were stock or what the deal is?

    You can check and see which cars it fits, but it seems quite universal.

    It seems that most auto parts stores have them for $5-7 each. And considering the high production numbers of these Hondas, they should be very easy to find. All you would need is a rubber mallet or something similar to install them.

    I was worried that you might have issues when putting the alloys back on in the spring, but they are relatively low-profile so they are obviously designed to facilitate proper clearance.

    I've got more important things to spend money on, so I neglect cosmetic issues. It's had bubbly tint on it since I got it and I still haven't fixed that. If I was going to buy new wheels though I like the Volk TE 37's. They're stupid expensive though, so pretty unlikely.

    I wonder if anyone has ever put "muscle car" wheels on a Civic. I'm thinking it would look silly but I'm having a hard time picturing it.

    Most up here leave hubcaps off. They tend to fall off with all the crusty snow and what ever you end up hitting. Our Rav goes just with what was once black rims, now looking rusty. The RDX has the OEM alum alloys that came with the vehicle for winter and some aftermarket ones for summer. This weekend is the changeover for the RDX the rav was done last week. YUCK!!

    The two 1962 brochures were included, they are showing their age, acquired some moisture. The Lincoln turntable looks bulky and strange. Probably not very practical even in 1962.
