Freaking gorgeous here this morning -- perfect fall morning. Just a kiss of frost
All of the long-weekend leaf peepers are being rewarded if they hung out 'til today

Your back 40 would be a splendid place for skeet shooting
You may lose the pigeons in the backdrop.
I'm getting tired of spring, to be honest. It never seems to show up anymore. We go straight from frigid to hot...Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -
In Florida we know its fall when all the license plates change colors.

Following suit, you cannot buy summer clothes any later than May, and back to school shopping seems to start while the kids are still in school the previous year... -

I'd substitute Altecs for Klipschorns, but I am still on board with the sentiment.

Really? I've been looking at the pic for 10 mins and cannot see anyone in the bushes -
Is that a little "ET" face "hood ornament" on the grille?
And what's up with the joint on that one bucket? Kinda looks like Santa!?!
... or do I just need more coffee this morning.

High visibility paint for the knuckle. I've seen crews take out trees, street signs etc when rotating the boom
The white cover is di-electric insulation for the hydraulic lines and exposed metal bits in and around the knuckle.
Good times!
And the hood ornament is just cool... -

Mother Nature's last hurrah.
Winter Daises. We em. We cut them to the ground after all the blooms have dropped off. They multiply underground throughout the winter and spring.

My new pal, Rawwrie (Raw-ree), originally Roary for his squeaky little voice, even though he's around 15 pounds. Three year old born feral in GFs crawlspace that we've tamed and fed twice most every day, along with 2-5 of his relatives each time, several of which we've been able tame enough to place in/at other homes.
Rawwrie was different than most - gentle-natured and timid, but playful and affectionate once sure he was safe at each meal. But he was too passive to continue to survive outdoors. In clinic several times with attack injuries, this time a probable vehicle collision broke his tail in 2-3 places and weakened his rear legs so he at least needed to convalesce indoors for a while. Now (so far after two weeks, at least) content to be inside-only, secure, well-fed, and loved. :-)
Now indoors, playing with shoestring:
On right, as kitten with sibling Bridgette who disappeared several months later:

Yeah, I like those too. We don't have any -- but they're pretty common up here, too.
They start blooming late summer.
Pretty much finished now, I think.
Pretty much everything's finished now here
3 inches of rain from the Nor'easter overnight hasn't helped matters much in that regard
