That is about right. Around my neck of the woods right now they have both Halloween AND Christmas out in the stores..... I sure thought there was another important holiday before Christmas but for the life of me I cannot remember what it is....
Awe heck... our Lowes store put the Christmas decorations out in the middle of September... SEPTEMBER!!!
Following suit, you cannot buy summer clothes any later than May, and back to school shopping seems to start while the kids are still in school the previous year... -

High visibility paint for the knuckle. I've seen crews take out trees, street signs etc when rotating the boom
The white cover is di-electric insulation for the hydraulic lines and exposed metal bits in and around the knuckle.

My new pal, Rawwrie (Raw-ree), originally Roary for his squeaky little voice, even though he's around 15 pounds. Three year old born feral in GFs crawlspace that we've tamed and fed twice most every day, along with 2-5 of his relatives each time, several of which we've been able tame enough to place in/at other homes.
Rawwrie was different than most - gentle-natured and timid, but playful and affectionate once sure he was safe at each meal. But he was too passive to continue to survive outdoors. In clinic several times with attack injuries, this time a probable vehicle collision broke his tail in 2-3 places and weakened his rear legs so he at least needed to convalesce indoors for a while. Now (so far after two weeks, at least) content to be inside-only, secure, well-fed, and loved. :-)

30 years here and we're still in the jets fly route. We have them fly over all the time. While taking photos of those winter Daises the other day, I just pointed the camera up and got lucky. Only had time to click 4 times before they were gone.
Sometimes they're SLOW and VERY LOUD. Sometimes FAST and LOUD. Sometimes just a few seconds of PURE SPEED with a WOOSH like these 3 did! Maybe there were 4 at first.
