meanwhile, back in the USA...Now ain't that America, to you and me
Ain't that America, somethin' to see, baby
Ain't that America, home of the free
Little pink houses for you and me
For you and me

Not the avians we were expecting at the bird feeder............

Actually, we're wondering what to do about these chickens, They have wandered into our back yard over the past few days, They appear to be well fed and are beautiful birds, Must have escaped from somewhere. Trying to figure out who to call. -

Poor Walter had to go to the Vet today. Poked, prodded, and some blood drawn for an upcoming teeth cleaning.

so... 5.5 lbs = 2.5 kg (i.e., 2500g).
By Einstein's equation:
E = m * c^2 = (2.5 kg) (3 x 10^9 m/sec)^2 = 2.25 x 10^19 kg-m^2/sec^2 = 2.25 x 10^19 Joules
2.25 x 10^19 J = 4588 megatons of TNT (4.588 gigatons)
(of course, you would have to convert all of him into energy, which is somewhat impractical... but... yeah, a lot of energy!)

Can anyone identify this? Perhaps the ever resourceful @mhardy6647? It was found crawling up my arm on the patio earlier today.

(most likely) it's a Bolo spider, part of the orb Weaver group.
What part of the country are you in? -

That is an American 25 cent piece, commonly known as a "quarter" (short for "quarter dollar") and to a lesser extent "two bits" (formerly equal to the cost of a shave and a haircut). I would have to guess that it was minted in 1979, judging from its markings.
This object is relatively common in most parts of the country. In some locales, it has more value as a component to various common drinking games than its monetary value.
*Not to be confused with the Canadian version which was known to wreak havoc in vending machines throughout the 1970s and 1980s. -

I heard somewhere if it weren't for spiders, we couldn't breath the air outside.
I tried to find that white spider and got weird feelings while looking at hundreds of pictures of spiders. I had to abort!

I HATE MOST SPIDERS, but the little hairy jumping spiders don't bother me one bit for some odd reason. Maybe since I can't see their little short legs moving, I don't care about them. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
