I've always wanted to hear some big horns like those.

The horns aren't the weird part -- the squishy enclosures are the weird part.

Big horns can be very nice.
There are some very fine ones nowadays.

They sounded great. It is a somewhat lively acoustic space, though, yes.

    meanwhile, back in the USA...
Now ain't that America, to you and me
Ain't that America, somethin' to see, baby
Ain't that America, home of the free
Little pink houses for you and me
    For you and me

(actually the house is that same cream-ish color of the sugarhouse -- and that charming moose and cross motif was there when they bought the place :p)

Not the avians we were expecting at the bird feeder............

Actually, we're wondering what to do about these chickens, They have wandered into our back yard over the past few days, They appear to be well fed and are beautiful birds, Must have escaped from somewhere. Trying to figure out who to call.

The last time I was in Maui (March 2018), there were chickens all in the airport area.

For sure! He's a lover! Realized today that he is 7 years old! Getting on a bit in years, but still a bunch of energy! All 5.5 lbs of him! :)

    [emphasis added]

    so... 5.5 lbs = 2.5 kg (i.e., 2500g).

    By Einstein's equation:

    E = m * c^2 = (2.5 kg) (3 x 10^9 m/sec)^2 = 2.25 x 10^19 kg-m^2/sec^2 = 2.25 x 10^19 Joules

    2.25 x 10^19 J = 4588 megatons of TNT (4.588 gigatons)

    B)

(of course, you would have to convert all of him into energy, which is somewhat impractical... but... yeah, a lot of energy!)

That is an American 25 cent piece, commonly known as a "quarter" (short for "quarter dollar") and to a lesser extent "two bits" (formerly equal to the cost of a shave and a haircut). I would have to guess that it was minted in 1979, judging from its markings.

This object is relatively common in most parts of the country. In some locales, it has more value as a component to various common drinking games than its monetary value.

*Not to be confused with the Canadian version which was known to wreak havoc in vending machines throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
