My wife wanted to hear a Cd through the Triton Ones.
I played it at a very nice loudness.
She enjoyed the heck out of it out there. She said it reminded her of the bass that was at the concert she attended and sat in the center, third row. I could've turned it up louder but didn't want to injure her ears.
Now we're both 62 and I felt like "do I make a move on her?"
It was THE 1st TIME she sat out there and listened to some music EVER. WTH?
Anyway, maybe she'll ask something for those tritons if I go first. I hope to tell her their value soon. I have to pick the right time.
After the tritons performed like they do, I told her, we're going back to the AR4x's for a minute. I switched to speaker B, the AR's.
She looked at me and shook her head....NO...NO...just turn it back to the tall ones.
There was a lack of bass...
It was fun though. A first!Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

I just went back out for 40 min. and was playing some Cds I found earlier tonight. I noticed settings on the receiver front row of buttons. I thought maybe something is wrong with them and pushed the button. The front left and center and right was set to +7 for each. Maybe I had the gain set to that. I brought it back to zero for the 3 and then checked surround mode button. It showed stereo. Ok. Now to put another CD in.
Pure Funk. The red swirly cover issue.
DANG! Man these little AR4x's are more AWSOME! They sound like they did when I first hooked them up the night I found them. Maybe it was the next night, I forgot already.
The bass was fuller and tight. the mids were more smoother and the highs were just as bright as before. Clear and bright but not too bright since I dialed the switches back a bit the other night.
They sounded really BIG and balanced again. Maybe my wife would've liked them the way they sound now. Add a subwoofer maybe for the lows, They would make for an awesome system. Bright or soft, the dial in the back will make them sound the way you prefer.
This sure is a crazy hobby. I still haven't switched receivers for the POLK RTA12b's, Triton Ones or these AR4x's yet. I'll re-listen again to the Tritons and the 12b's tomorrow to see if lowering those settings helps them sound even better also! Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

They are probably the best speaker I have ever owned. Just finding the right room for them has been a challenge.
Synergy has just never been there. I won't give up on them but it is time for them to take a back seat until a bigger room presents itself.
Plus the Advents tame the brighter nature of the Adcom. Enough juice to get the bass flowing and the mids are great.

Since then, he's been hanging out in the basement all day every day!

Yep! Nope 851N! (thanks Joe) My first streamer, but absolutely love it! New to Tidal as well, loving that too! I do have the CXN V2 upstairs in the Living Room rig, of which I love that one too!

I have to respectfully disagree. I went from 2Bs to 1.2s then straight back to 2Bs. I didn't like how the soundstage of the 1.2s is above your head, like the band is floating up in the air. It was a joke in the spirit of "Polk" but I agree, I had to move the 2.3's to the 40'x60' barn for that reason. Couldn't nail it down at the time as to why I like'd the 1C's better but that was about right.Gustard X26 Pro DAC

Hey Tony, I've been considering some Triton Ones. I'm glad to hear they sound so good in your system. I have kef 107's as my main speaker, and Polk lsim 707's that I just bought to test against them. But from what I've read, the Triton's will outshine them both. Apparently the Triton One.R's are pretty amazing as well.
