I was guesstimating I know the size of one's ... mirror... is a very personal thing. 
FWIW, there's an old 8" Orion Dob carcass downstairs that I found at the Harvard town dump years back. No mount, and no focuser, but a nice main mirror and a salvageable cardboard tube Keep kinda meaning to do something with it someday...
Still have our ol' fast (relatively short FL) 6" Newtonian, though. Sometimes we get good dark skies here, but we're about 30 miles south of the good dark sky locations up this-a-way.
