A-L estimates they "should start shipping approx the end of the 3rd week of April... (although) not possible to pinpoint precisely at this point. Emails with tracking numbers will be sent when each one is processed for shipment. The Post Office then picks up the following day."

This would make it a little later than 12 weeks out, likely due to order more than tripling from the original quote.

Sorry @gadgetman1966 these were a special order from Avel Lindberg that required a minimum order. A special group buy was put together (thanks @vcwatkins et al.) and placed back in January. We are now all waiting the 12 weeks for them to manufacture and ship them.

You might check with Avel Lindberg towards the end of the month to see if maybe they made any extra in the manufacture run. If not you can always buy the 800VA transformer (Part# Y236906) which they stock.

Gadgetman, if you do some searching of old threads you'll find the "in stock" 800vA to be almost as nice as the 1000vA model. I bet some here would find it hard to tell the difference.

If you are looking to build a Dreadnought, the A/L 800vA Y236906 is excellent for this application.

  • I have an extra set of these faceplates (and female neutrik connections) I'd like to give away. I made two sets and I'll never use the black ones. They'll just end up sitting in my closet forever. They allow the dreadnaught to sit flat so only the blank face is showing. It's been mentioned that these sound better when they're in the vertical. But if you want to join me "above the influence" and go horizontal let me know. Just reimburse me for shipping. B)

Had my parents visiting a few weeks ago, and was showing my father the new rig. He asked me what the big black box was in back of the rack, and I was explaining the whole Dread thing to him. I've given him SDA demos in the past, but not since I've been using the tranny. He was an electrical engineer back in the day, so he got a good kick out of the demo. I showed him this thread and how 30+ more of them are about to be built...
