    BTW, it's not that the adhesive was too old on that original Dynamat. It's that it never had good adhesion to begin with, hence it's replacement, Dynamat Xtreme.

    Well I've done about as much glueing of the cabinet as I can do. The top front corner is a major b#$×+% to get to through the small woofer holes, so I left it alone.

    I believe those are there to allow for you to bend the ring when you have to mount it from the inside.

    Since the drill bit is exactly the same size as the hole in the template and does not actually pass through that hole. Does it matter that it will be interfering with the bit/getting cut up by it while drilling??

    Thing is all this info is already posted here if one bothers to look. Most of it is common sense to those with some skills. Those without a basic skill set shouldn't be doing this work in the first place.

    I agree with you with the following caveats:
    1) Some of these threads are pages long (*like this one*) and it is very easy to lose track of where all of this information is. Assuming one even knows where to start looking.
    2) Since you work with the public like I do you know that common sense ain't so common anymore.

    Nothing wrong with asking questions. It's the reactions to the questions that can often be the problem.

    Funny thing about the midwoofer template is that it's such a tight fit into the countersunk area where the midwoofers go. I really didn't need to use the clamps, as it wasn't moving around at all!

    I got exactly one ring and one tweeter bracket in place without interference. ALL of the others will require cutting, trimming or wood chipping! :(

    funnier thing is when it does move you just fouled up a hole. You are very lucky...
    No matter how tight it is best to hold it in place to keep from shooting up the bit or worse.

    I literally had to bang the template into place after turning it over/rotating it several times for each hole.It did not want to go into place without a fight I actually only did the drilling without the clamps on the last one.

    You can dremel the rings if the brace is in the way but just chisel the glue.
