    That comparison won't last long.

Very impressive components and metal work. What improvements do you expect in the sound of the CRS+ without the components inside? I realize you will gain some volume inside the cabinet without the crossovers mounted in there but I thought the passive radiator was turned to the volume of the cabinet. Have you taken that into consideration?

How big of an issue is that?
    What % volume is increased?
Is there TS parameters etc... for the drivers and passive radiator?
Stock crossovers components are tiny compared to the replacements so not much increased and even if it does, easy to add something if really want to test but Toolfan will know if it needs any further test once it's done.

    Klipsch RB81, KG3.5, B&W DM602.5, Polk.
Subwoofers: Klipsch RW10, Triad ProSub Bronze.
  • The difference in the volume may not be an issue at all. I don't know. More internal volume was the only thing I could see there was to gain by moving the crossovers outside the cabinet. I was just wondering how the extra volume would effect the sound.

Much to do about nothing. Considering that the 2B's use the exact same crossover and have a much larger internal volume there is no issue here.

  • Old crossover mounts are less than 2% of internal volume. Not an issue on TS parameters.

Larry after you get them up n running - down the road' you could always add baffles inside the cabinets if it needs to be tame'd up/down some. (Could use brackets with multiple adjustable holes-so you can adjust them to where ya like it ) When doing my crs+tl'd David walked me through it & it did make a difference. Just a thought... Looking forward to end results & everything looks great

Yes, but the 2B has a passive radiator designed for the larger volume cabinet.

Consider the Monitor 10 versus the CRS+. They both use a 10" passive and basically the same tweeters and MWs but the M10 passive is a different model number. I think the reason for that is to compensate for the larger internal volume. I'm not being argumentative. I'm just throwing this out for the sake of discussion.

Stainless, that's all Home Depot or Ace Hardware had, I might get some aluminum ones from McMaster Carr..

  • Okay,

I am at a standstill here, I have everything done, but I would like to have the cabinets redone on the outside (veneer or something of that sort, PSA?) before I put these back together, and I can't seem to find a place in town to do it..

I'm not afraid to learn how to do it especially the four sides but the face concerns me more than anything..

Maybe just some black spray paint? If a person could find some.. LOL!!!

Are you asking about the wood trim around the bezel or about the bezel itself?
