No affil... a pair of the original SDA-1's was recently listed on the bay for parts. Depending on what works, that's 8 6501's, 4 SL1000's, and 1 PR (the other is toast). Don't know why the guy doesn't part them himself, but at least he posted great pics of the speaks including the backplate and the weird interconnect used back then.

I just snagged a pair of 1C's off the bay this weekend, or I should say almost a pair, Everything but the cab's, grills and tweeters (already have 4 SL-2000's) everything is dated Feb - Mar 1989 in mint shape, just got everything yesterday. Probably paid to much but what the hell 350 shipped.

Yeah, no kidding! My friends joke that you'll need to move a speaker (like a door) to get into my house, then move another one to get into my living room, etc. Sounds like a good goal to shoot for to me!

Audio, if they were closer to me...I would have picked them up. I am looking for a pair of 2.3's or 3.1's. There is a guy with mint 1.2's 45 minutes from me but the room I have is just too small for them.

^^^^ Was just about to post that - local to me - a little misleading - I'm not sure if it's 500 dollars for 500 for each speaker which it says in the listing (1,000 total).

Looks like a possible great buy.

I think that he is saying that they could handle 1000 Watts. Not sure if that is true or what you would use to drive it at 1000 W. (I guess that you could biamp with a large PA amp.)

The impression I got was $500 each speaker. So, $1000 total. It just seems like less money if he states 500$ each (speaker) opposed to $1000 for both. I may be mistaken in my interpretation though. If it's $500 for both speakers it is absolutley a great buy for the 2.3TL's! Get them somebody!

The lady returned my email, it is indeed $1000 for the pair. She also has some Carver gear to sell as well. She says this is her sons' system, as he recently passed away and is selling his stuff.

Looking back at the original ad, I see that my reading comprehension is horrible. I apologize if anyone got overly excited by the $500.

    Those are mine Vette.

Not posting them up on the forum considering what I paid for them locally. For that reason alone, I'd rather make a profit from a random stranger on ebay rather than take advantage of that from anyone here on the forum. I'll consider something for a forum member if they really want them, but like I said I'd rather not profit from anyone here.
