^^^^ Was just about to post that - local to me - a little misleading - I'm not sure if it's 500 dollars for 500 for each speaker which it says in the listing (1,000 total).
Looks like a possible great buy.
James
The impression I got was $500 each speaker. So, $1000 total. It just seems like less money if he states 500$ each (speaker) opposed to $1000 for both. I may be mistaken in my interpretation though. If it's $500 for both speakers it is absolutley a great buy for the 2.3TL's! Get them somebody!

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers: "I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

The lady returned my email, it is indeed $1000 for the pair. She also has some Carver gear to sell as well. She says this is her sons' system, as he recently passed away and is selling his stuff.

Looking back at the original ad, I see that my reading comprehension is horrible. I apologize if anyone got overly excited by the $500.
Not posting them up on the forum considering what I paid for them locally. For that reason alone, I'd rather make a profit from a random stranger on ebay rather than take advantage of that from anyone here on the forum. I'll consider something for a forum member if they really want them, but like I said I'd rather not profit from anyone here.
They are definitely not 1.2 TL's because they have the SL2000 tweeters. There are either original SRS's or 1.2's. The determining factor is whether they have a pin/blade interconnect or blade/blade. If they are pin/blade then they're 1.2's. If they're blade/blade, then they are the original SRS's. I am emailing the seller to find out what kind of IC they have.

What's the reason for the sale? Just curious.

As long as we're snarking about people trying to hype the speakers they know little about... these are a rare find. 1.2 TL's with the SL 2000 tweeters. They are Michael Polk's flagship model! I'm guessing Michael is the lesser known, black sheep, beer swilling, Billy Carter of the Polk family.

LOL . The seller stated that the IC is blade/blade so they're not even 1.2's. Guess he'll eventually disclose that at some point before the auction ends...

Wow, liquid cooled and they can reset themselves.... Lol
It concerns me that the owner both thinks they're liquid cooled, and has apparently tripped them multiple times...
Given that sets of 1Cs have gone unsold here recently (SC for $350), but I'm close enough to Catonsville for pickup, what do folks think I should offer for these given that I won't know 1C/1B (or any other damage/details) until after purchase? $300 seem reasonable, or too much of a low-ball?
Current polk speakers:
Family room 5.1: TC265i R/L, VM10 Center, RC65i surrounds (couldn't match the TCs)
Basement non-dedicated 7.1 HT: SDA-CRS+ R/L, 255c-LS Center, LSiFX surrounds, RC80i in-ceiling rear surround, plus Wharfedale 12" sub (some day I'll get around to building 15" F-20 sub).

They are 1C (wood trim at the top and bottom). I could not remember the difference earlier and was too lazy to look it up. For what I have seen, I think that $300-350 is fair, but it really depends on how much you want them. Having them in close driving distance obviously is a big plus. Of course this assumes that all of the drivers work.
Speaking of 1C's, if there are any Western WA (maybe even OR) Polkies who are interested in a pair where most of the big upgrades have already been done (tweeters and XO's), I just noticed a pair on CL for $600. Personally, I think that's not way out of line when upgrades have been performed, esp. if they're still in good cosmetic shape. No personal affil on this, by the way.
Not sure if these are up here yet, but audiogon has a pair of SDA-CRS for $125 in Santa Fe. He's calling them 4/10, but...
I will be going to see them this afternoon. The seller doesn't have the IC nor understand its function. Still, if they are fixed up they might work better than my SDA 1Bs in my small living room. Either that or use them as surrounds or a single one as a center.
Jim
PS: What is the difference between the CRS and CRS+?

The CRS has two tweeters, one of which is dimensional. The CRS+ is basically a reconfigured 2B, and can be upgraded to TL.
