Oh WTF.
There's a REASON they don't sell these amps for $2000. And it's most definitely not because they're nice guys.
It's because they wouldn't sell. God those forums make my damn brain hurt. Then I started playing some Smashing Pumpkins, Bach etc and noticed that there was a lot of detail coming out of my speakers.
Holy crap! Detail? Out of your speakers?!?!?! Moron goes on to say that somehow his XPA-2 improved the performance of his powered sub. AMAZING.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

Still got two amps I need to dump at some point, maybe I should put them up on the Agon as BEST REFERANCE AMPS EVER MADE as my headline...that'll get some offers in no time....
Say what you will about Emo, it sells. I sold my Emo amp on A-gon in less than one hour for full asking price which was $100 less than I paid (I had 4 offers) so I have no complaints.SystemLuxman L-590AXII Integrated Amplifier|KEF Reference 1 Loudspeakers|PS Audio Directream Jr|Sansui TU-9900 Tuner|TEAC A-6100 RtR|REL T/9X SE Sub -
If Emo is that good, has anyone ever do a DBT against other products? Stereophile?

just sayin'
ps: I have no opinion on Emo, nor bias for or against. To me, REFERENCE is something that I CAN'T afford. Ironic, isn't it?
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie. -

oh I know it sells, I've sold the two amps I did have of theirs in a matter of hours of posting. I have no problems with that. I'm just having a problem finding the mono blocks I want to use to replace the them. Saw some krells on there today that look AWESOME but a little over my budget right now. -

Krell and Emo are in a same paragraph . Very interesting ! I never would have that comes across my mind. -

I know one Audiogon member bought the Emo for his garage system . It's not bad while you're mowing the lawn and listen to the Emo blasting. -

well its just because you know EMO eats krell for lunch and then craps out parasounds because to the EMO they sound like ****.... -

It does not matter who eats whom for lunch. Krell is Krell and Emo is Emo. They are belonged to certain class and status quote.
Yes, I am ashamed to have Emo in my house. I admitted it. I would not buy a chevy Cavalier or a Chevy Malibu which really there is nothing wrong with Chevy but I 'd rather drive the Beamer and so are my sons. -

What's the sign and warning of dilusional condition?
-
Don't worry, I'm fine..funny is just a nice way of saying that's pretty absurd and laughable, i.e., Emo and Krell, even Paarsound in the same sentence....I mean.
Hey look, Emotiva makes some nice 'entry' level amps but not Krells and not even Parasound..especially not the Halo series.

Here is the facts guys..... I purcased a Emo amp and cd player and I am quite happy with them. The shipping and packaging were second to none and the products perform as expected. worth the money in my opinion and I didn't have a set budget when I decided that is what I wanted. I would consider used amps from other manufactures also but this time I went new with Emotiva and have no regrets other than the product is heavy and large, but hey isn't any good amp big and heavy! If you want it get it you will be pleasedMy Setup:
Front- Polk Monitor 70
Center- Polk CS2
Rear - Polk Monitor 70
Subs - 2 Polk PSW505
Receiver - Onkyo TX-SR707

CD Player - Emotiva ERC-1
Interconnects - Emo X-Series
& Emo Ultra speaker cables

Sorry that I did not refer to you. I use the wrong quote. My bad. Please accept my apology. I am refering to the dude claimed the Emo will eat Krell for lunch.
Such a dilusional one!:D -
I don't really think 'anyone' here disagrees with you...Emotiva represents value on the New Market and lots of people are happy with them in their systems...
But if you crave a warmer, sweeter more nuanced two channel sound, or even a 100 percent neutral 'as is sound' and you have the money...I for one do not--but I've heard the BIG BOYS--you'll probably move up the food chain.
No one is really saying that Emos are bad...I think...at any point.

No doubt Emo stuff allows a lot of folk to taste the entry level of separated pre/amp. Emo is one step above some but not all mass market AVRs. For those who claim Emo is the answer to audio Nirvana that is dilusional to me. -

Allright, You Emo people win. I am going to order a pre/ 2 channel amp by the end of this month. I will seriously give the Emo a fair and open mind. If it sounds as half decent as the Rotel or Para, I will become an Emo advocate for free. If it sounds like s**t or DOA on me, you Emo will have a bass **** public enemy.
How to turn that freaking LED off, Emo people? -
please don't put me into the same group as all of them. I am very very far from being an Emoite. The stuff was alright but not what I was looking for in terms of sound. That and some people are nuts in their claims.
It works fine in HT but I use mine for HT and 2 channel and didn't care for the 2 channel sound. -
I read some of it, laughed a little, cried a little, did a little ....ummm yeah so anyways...
I learned my lession with the stuff. Still got two amps I need to dump at some point, maybe I should put them up on the Agon as BEST REFERANCE AMPS EVER MADE as my headline...that'll get some offers in no time....oh I know it sells, I've sold the two amps I did have of theirs in a matter of hours of posting. Are the amps you talk about in the second quote the same ones you were talking about in the first quote? If not what do you have and what are you looking to get for them?
And I gotta ask, isn't
"Saw some krells on there today that look AWESOME but a little over my budget right now"
kind of what so many have been saying about affordability? One in hand is better than two in the bush, so to speak. -
I don't know that anyone ever said they make the best amps any more than anyone ever said that Polk makes the best speaker. I think that the issue has been blown out of proportion.
Some took offence that Emotiva used the word Reference in their advertising literate and then did a "Monty Python" take on that.
However at the present time, for the money spent both Polk Audio and Emotiva offer a nice combination of performance and value. They are for the middle of the road audio enthusiast like me.
You haven't been reading very long then or many of the Emo threads. There have been many outlandish claims by the Emoettes. -

I thought the reference was to comments made directly in this forum and not in another forum. I would agree in the Emotiva forum, there are some major fans who get carried away, but I would expect that.
They're here, too. But if you're really that curious about it, go ahead and search 'Emotiva' and enjoy your hours of reading. I'm not going to copy and paste all the threads for you.
