We aren't flaming the brand, per se...

It's the people who are using them as their first entry level gear, and then come on here and spew everywhere that they're the best gear on the face of the planet. It isn't. They don't understand that, but insist on giving them "the win" over gear they've never even heard.

It's completely ruined the brand for some people, including people who did own it. Talk to cstmar01 if you'd like. He's sold his gear simply because of the attitudes of other Emo owners.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

that being said it seems others on here act like emo/adcom/etc
are total"****" without justification, kinda like a bandwagon....i cant afford most "highend" amps nor would i give every dollar i got to own them so an average joe like me looks at companies such as emo, outlaw, adcom to get a good serious rig w/out spending a ton of money. just tired of the relentless flaming of emo, unless that company ripped you off....i dont see why any one person could go on and on dissing them....just my opinion

I agree with you. Don't hate the company. Hate the fanboys.

. . . But they let me know that sound is coming from my speakers. Plus, seeing the beat allows my white **** to really pull off some extravagant dance moves.

Thank the Emoettes for that one.

They rip off everyone they sell an amp to if they are walking away believing that Emo amps are the be-all end-all of the audio world.

as said in previous post i said they arent the best .just would rather see more informative and constructive conversations......who cares anymore,i dont

I own the stuff that is right. Bought it, thought I might try it out. I'm joking a lot in the threads as thats what I do. Honestly though the way some of the fan bois say crap annoys me soo much. I honestly am embarrassed sometimes to even say I have it because of how they act. The stuff is ENTRY LEVEL. I was just starting out and tried it, found I didn't really care for it all that much. Honestly it works, and what not, but I found that a lot of the "claims" that emo owners have are not true. example
    1. I have a fan on my mono blocks (XPA-1) because I found they get very hot still even after 1 movie or about an hour of listening, and I'm not listening that loud, trust me, the meters never even move.
    2. I think they lack detail that everyone claimed they have. Yes I have more volume but its just that volume. Not detail.
    3. Its too in your face I'm gonna bash your head in with a shovel type of sound that I would rather pass on. For HT yeah its fine, dont' care, for music, eh I want something more netural and give a warmer sound like the tube amps I used to use when I was playing upright and eletric bass. The old fender amps we used in our jazz band was a great one.
    4. A lot of people seem to focus on the WATTS issue, its not just watts its the quailty of them. Give me 100 good ones over 500 crappy ones.
    5. yeah fine they have good prices, and so does some good used gear by rotel, adcom, pass labs, mcintosh, parasound, and what not that I would also like to try out and see if any good.

So if I post something saying I don't like it, well there's my back up. I'm newer to this whole audio thing, but do spend most of my time in front of my computer which sits in front of my set up (gf's laptop) listening to music. and want to enjoy it the best way possible.
I still have the XPA-1s but they will go, just gotta find some time to get them ready to go out and find what I want to replace them with. Also I hate the attiudes and it help drive me to sell as concelor said. seriously they are terrible and I won't go back.

Yeah I get it. I think you are witnessing the aftermath of futile attempts to have the dialogue you suggest.

Don't lost hope though. In all seriousness, I have a plan to move the Emotiva debate forward through constructive dialogue.

I'm right in downtown Indy near the state house. You should check out Sound Solutions in Broad Ripple. They have some really nice Magico, Dynaudio, B&W, and Martin Logan speakers powered by Mac gear. That's some high end tunage.

A lot of Good Sound is personal taste and system synergy. My Rtia9s sound amazing with XPA-1s, but my old Emerald Physics CS2s sounded bad with a pair of XPA-2 amps.

I am running my two fronts which are RTIA9's using audioquest alpha snake interconnects with signal cable ultra series for speaker cables. My amps all sit out in the open on a painted black board of solid maple my brother gave me. They are not inclosed in any way.
I have found that they do get hot, in my opinion. I too read they are very cool running but can say from when I used them, I found they got hot pretty quick. I did hear from a few people that they run cool to the touch and can't even tell they have been on when running when left on for hours. To me this is not true.
Also just and FYI called the company about the status lights because even cranked up to very high volumes mine never moved, I got it to move once and it was on transformers at like wall shaking volumes and it moved up 1 space and back down. I guess they are not sensative at all as that is what Emo customer service stated and that they are more for "looks" and don't really mean anything. I don't really mind they are for looks but if they are there would like them to be a bit more sensative because then whats the point of even putting them there. Its just a waste of space and parts to make the "status" LEDs ect to me then.

My old AVR ran very warm. The XPA-1s are cooler than it. but not by much.

and yes I ment Entry level in terms of sperates as I was using an AVR as a pre/pro and then amps to see how much of an improvement I had over the amps of the AVR.

My friend has his XPA-1s hooked up to a pair of Magnepan 3.5 speakers. Those inefficient speakers had the lights bouncing. No matter what anyone says, the Rtia9 is a pretty efficient speaker. I called him as well. He indicated his XPA-1s get pretty warm, but never painfully warm.

Correction: My friend is listening to Heavy Metal right now and claims the amps are heating up quite a bit.

Do you have a new pair or a old pair? The ones I've used are only a few months old. I wonder if they've been retweaked. Perhaps this is another Emotiva quirk.

I'm the second owner. First person bought them I would say around summer time. Serials are in the 200's and I'm not sure were they are at now with them. If you interested in getting 2 more let me know, like I said I do want to try out some other things for the A9's.

Seriously, ive never heard a emo amp so i cant post a relevant review, but i wouldnt bash them or someone else, if they choose to spend their mony in that direction....just my .02

Wouldnt say theyre the best but have hard time believing that their products are complete junk as most on here claim...

I wouldn't get so bent out of shape over it. We are talking about Polk Forums after all.

    Think about this:

Out of AVSForum, audioholics, hometheatershack, htguide.com, tweakcityaudio.com, audiokarhma.com, avforums.co.uk, partsexpress.com, diyaudio.com and ANY other site I have failed to mention.

None of them have childish threads like this... The other thing you will find:
A lot of happy Emotiva owners that have owned:

Levinson, Lexicon, Adcom, Hafler, PassLabs, Classe, McIntosh, ATI, Rotel, Parasound, Cary, Carver, NAD, Krell etc...

Who cares, it's a bunch of people on a companies forum who's highest end product costs $2500 (not knocking Polk, just stating an unarguable fact).

When you wrestle with a pig you both end up dirty and the pig likes it.
