Just tried Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and I really enjoyed this one; excellent brew. Going to try others from them this weekend.

Long Trail IPA and Double Bag Ale are excellent too

    I agree; very good point..:D

I actually do not like ice in my beer. However, I find that if I pour at an angle for most of the beer and finish with a center pour, it minimizes the ice floaters.

My favorite is the one in my hand at the time of the question, tonight we are drinking Shiner Black (from Texas) and Widmer Brothers Drop Top Amber (from Oregon). I've managed to surpress the beer snob in me and can find something nice to say about almost every beer!

Yes, I've tried several, and there isn't a bad choice to be had IMO. They have excellent pricing on some of the name brands too ... and they stock Chimay beer as well!

Norm, since it's the weekend, you might want to try for some bottles of the T.J. "German Style" Oktoberfest beer. It's brewed in San Jose by "JosephsBrau Brewing Co.", T.J. brand, I think, probably brewed by Gordon Biersch http://www.gordonbiersch.com/brewery/.

I found it quite excellent for $1 a 12oz. bottle.

I just got home from Berwick Brewery tonight. I am feeling goooood. It's one of those beers that doesn't hit you 'til you've been sitting at home for a little while. God help you if you decide to go to bed right away.... I guarantee you'll be waking up with a stomach ache. I usually suggest 2 or three glasses of water to finish out the night... at least!

Grabbed some of that Noble Pils from Sam Adams the other day. I grabbed a 6 pack last night too.

It's better out of the tap. The bottle hurts it but if you pour it in to a glass, it gets close to the tap. I found I had to put a decent head of foam on it to get it right.

Overall, it's a slightly bitter brew. It's heavy too. Heavier than I expected a Pilsner to be. But it has a sweet and sour type of deal going on and leaning to the sour side with the citrus hints. The after taste is clean and fresh, very earthy and sweet, like a whole grain bread. The after taste lingers too and it's a good thing. It's easy to drink but it's a fairly strong brew too.

I thought at first it would have an overpowering hops flavor to it. I can't do more than 1 or 2 pints of really hoppy beer. Starts making me sick after a while. This has a strong hop flavor to it but it mellows out quickly. I don't think it's much of a spring brew though. More suitable to the crisp autumn weather. Either way, give it a try. The liquor store guy told me it's been flying off the shelves around here so get it while you can. I got lucky and my favorite dive bar has it on tap.

Man! This hasn't been updated since February!

Grabbed a 6 pack for a "try and see".

This is from Atlantic Brewing Company out of Bar Harbor, Maine.

It's called "Bar Harbor Real Ale".

This is so dark it's almost a stout. Not real hoppy. Chocolaty though. Finishes with a hoppy flavor though. It's light too. Lighter than I expected. It's creamy and supports a good head. I like it! I dunno how much of a regular brew it is but if you can get it near you, pick it up. It was worth the $9 for the 6-pack.

OK, I'm headed back to Virginia in the next couple of weeks and I can't wait to get my fill of Legend Brown Ale. I believe its brewed in Richmond, VA.

Has anybody else tried it (or even heard of it)? When I lived there in the 90s, it was always my favorite local brew, though there were a few tasty other ones.
