Great idea, McLoki. I feel like I should be "in" this test since I started the post. However, I saw what I needed to order some for myself. Thanks - I will be following the reports of others and will weigh in my opinions, too.

If it is not to late I would like to try this. Power cables are the last thing I have not yet tweaked, or even tried. I know just the company with off-the-wall power cable designs, but have not yet convinced myself to buy 6 power cables.

Offer is open until the test reaches the last person and the cords are shipped back to me. Consider yourself in.

requirement is 50 posts (not crap ones either) and you would be about 8th or 9th in line. That gives you about 2-4 months to come up with 15 more decent posts (at a 1-2week trial per person). Hang around and I am sure you will make it with no problem. I will add your name to the list and if you aren't still around or haven't posted at least 15 more times in the next 3 months or so - I will skip you. Sound fair?? :)

Never used it or heard of anyone who has. Signal Cable is a know quantity to me and that make it worth the slight extra cost. Just my opinion - Not saying its not the best deal in audio, just that I don't know.

This is very cool. People argue about upgraded any kind of wires without any practical experience. This is a very nice way to get some. Now you can honestly post if it made any difference or not.

Nice going man. I'm not in as I have been down this road more then most.

I have two of the PC's...the Pangea AC-14 & the Pangea AC-9. I did a search on the designer, Jay Victor & he holds a boat load of patents on cable technology & design. He's very well known in the audio circles. But what really swayed me was this info found on PC Audio's site...http://www.psaudio.com/ps/products/description/perfectwave-ac-12-power-cable?cat=cables-accessories. PC audio relies heavily on Jay's patents & cable design for their best cables. I figured if Jay's knowledge is good enough for PC audio then why not give his cables a shot.

Be for warned though, the build quality, looks & especially the massive size of the AC-9 is off the charts at this price...hell even at the PC Audio cable prices these cables are a steal. I'm extremely happy with both of Jay's cables & highly recommend them.

The AC-9 is so massive that you need to allow extra length to get a good bend without too much pressure. At these prices they're worth a listen in your system. I know I'll be purchasing more.

Not trying to stir the pot, I simply believe many will hear improvements quicker as the PC gets closer to the source, that has been my experience (digital sources especially). There are differences in other components but the bang for the buck factor goes way down.

I agree. Changes are subtle to almost non existent on the amps I own. The biggest differences I've heard while rolling PC's was on my Peachtree Nova. I believe the beefier the power supply, the less of a difference.

I agree with your recommendation of source first. However, I noticed a definite improvement with my preamp and amp with an after market power cord and more so after it burned in. Definite decrease in the noise floor and the instruments and vocals were coming out of almost pure blackness.

I don't think you are trying to stir the pot as I agree with your advice on going with the source first as that will reveal the benefit of an aftermarket power cord more so than preamps and amps. I was just sharing my experience.

Recieved a note from Eric that the power cords arrived and he will start experimenting with them soon.

NooshinJohn - I need you to PM me your address and a phone number (in case something comes up) so Eric can send them to you when he is done testing.

Eric - Take your time and try it in a few different components. I expect at least a week or two for testing - no rush.

Can't wait to hear opinions - one way or the other.

I've seen the differences that IC's and speaker cables can make, but I've gotta say, I still have some doubts about power cables. I'd love a chance to try it out in my own rig.

The Signal Cable power cord is the bar standard for all my gear. It's the first thing that gets swapped and its modestly priced to boot.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

In. I changed my mind. If I get one of my own before I get the test one, I can see how it works with other components. Thanks again for the offer.

This will also bump this back to the top and hopefully get some more interest in the name of sonic science.
