Except for the Nova(DAC), the biggest difference from from the Icon(headphone DAC/AMP). IMO, it appears that components with weak power supplies are those most affected by aftermarket PC's. I don't recall hearing a difference with my old Pass F5 clone.

I can certainly agree with that logic and perhaps I jumped the gun with the dac mods so close to me replacing power cords and commenting. More experimentation is in order now that the dac is broken in. Nelson really doesn't recommend high dollar/special PC's, says they are unnecessary with his amps, but we are free to use them if we like.

I may take it out and put it on the office rig and evaluate.

Can I just keep them? (just kidding)

SignalCable just seems to do everything the correct way. Their cost is perfect for a guy like me, and performance and quality always impress.

The digital cable made a slight improvement in picture quality to my Pioneer Plasma. Enough to bring a smile to my face and that is all I need.
No doubt I will get some of these in the near future...

Somebody PM me shipping information for the next in line.

Thanks again McLoki for your gracious offer!
    Eric.

I have already owned some of the Magic Power cords and they are perfect for the money. I really can not comment on that one this time, because I used it on my PS3 and did not do a real comparison vs. stock cord.

But the digital cable made a nice improvement in picture quality on my Plasma. As soon as funds allow, I'm getting one. It is well worth the money.

They make a difference and they are worth it. Period end of story!

Big Dawg, I'm shipping the cables to you tomorrow and will send a tracking # via PM.

After watching TV tonight for the 1st time in a few weeks with the stock power cable back on my Plasma, now is when I can REALLY tell a difference. It just don't look quite as good.

Going to Agon now to buy a power cord...

Thanks, I received them almost a week ago. Will add them somewhere in my rig this weekend.

Question: with 2 cables, where should I put them to experience the greatest benefit? I'm currently using "stock" power cables for everything.

    Dawg

Dawg, I would try the short one on your amp and the digital cable on your source.

Yo Bro. Sources first is the best mantra for power cables IMHO.

So, by source, does that mean transport or DAC?

Definitely DAC. IMHO I think the transport would gain better improvements from really good isolation but if you like what the power cable does for the DAC I would consider one for the transport too.

Ummm, try source first. Not many will hear the differences between power sources.

Somewhat agree with your statement however recently I put a new pair of power cables on some tube monoblocks and got an incredible change of sound. Depends on the system I'm sure.

I know what you mean Chuck. When I put a Signal Cable Magic Power cord on my Spectral preamp outboard power supply, I couldn't believe, what was already a very very low noise floor, went to blackness. I got that cable as a gift so there was no placebo effect to be had. Of course I switched back and forth between the stock and SC and was pleasently surprised each time.

On my Pass clone and W4S amps, I hardly heard a difference when swapping power cords. In fact, I prefer the stock W4S cord over the Signal and PS Audio cables I tried. I believe the beefier the PS section, the less of a difference from swapping PC's. On my Peachtree Nova, the difference in low end was so obvious even a deaf person could feel it.

Well I put a power cord from the wall to my power conditioner one from my amp to the power conditioner , and one from my CDP as well. and it was so night and day that I ordered new Power cables for the rest of my rig. I don't care if there is any more improvement or not. But the stock cables have to go.

I now know what the blacks are blacker means...

Given the goat-rope I experienced with the MIT interconnects, I'm going to remove myself from this opportunity. Thank you~

Wouldn't mind getting in on this, don't know where the best place to test them is though with my system. The Carver doesn't have a removable power cord. The Belkin has a power cord thick as a fire hose!
So I guess maybe the Oppo and my TV? Maybe projector? The Arcam?

I would start with a source. In my experience with PCs they have the greatest effect in this order, source, preamp then amp. As far as your projector goes I would imagine it would make the projection crisper.
