Thank you for being a voice of reason Zitro. I joined the forum today, and after reading through a few of the threads, doubted I would come back due to the rampant snobbery (my interpretation of what I read, not meaning to target anyone specific). While it is a common desire to see things we own or like as "better" than what we don't, I'm glad not all the forum members get caught up in the pissing match and can respect the opinions of others. Maybe I will stick around a little longer.

Stick around, this is the best club on the internet. Don't jump to conclusions because of a couple of bad threads. This place provides a wealth of knoweldge, information, fun and camaraderie. Just like the real world, there is a lot of banter and pissing matches, that what you get with a crowd of human beings.

    Welcome aboard.

Please do. I thought the same thing of the forum when I first started and I know you don't know me from Adam, but trust me. Joining this forum sky rocketed my audio journey to fast forward. There are many things I don't like about some of the riff-raff that goes on but the core group of this forum is some of the greatest folks I have met and shared this hobby with. Even those I haven't met feel like family now.

    Well said Tom!

By all means stick around. There is a wealth of knowledge here at your disposal. As far as the snoobery issus goes...yes there are some here but you'll soon discover who they are & just read what they say & sift thru it with a fine toothed comb. They mean well but they just can't help it. But overall the members are all very hospitable & willing to share there knowledge. Welcome aboard.

You should definitely stick around; this really is a wonderful forum. I have learned quite a bit here, even though I am a pretty new member. A lot of information and willing, helpful people here. In fact, I owe it to the generosity and helpfulness on this forum that I have the very nice current Polk setup I do now. And the things I've learned here will help me build on this system down the road.

Plus, the few that tend to do the flaming, snobbery and useless arguing are entertaining to laugh at now and again lol.

Why are people comparing only the Krell and the Emotiva? Are pre-amplifier stages not important?

10 minutes of my life I'm never getting back.

The OP was full of **** and stirring the pot. I seriously doubt that there every was a Krell amp....and if there was it was broken. Period.

More to the point though....who freaking cares?

Garbage in, garbage out. Why would someone use a low end pre-amp of an AVR to drive a hi-end intergrated amp as stand alone amp?

When I called for a RA number, the rep said I needed to give it a 200 hour burn in! ... I guess that all makes me an official Emoette!

Burn in makes a big difference and 200 hr may not be enough.
Keep in mind everytime you change a piece of gear you need to go through the process of balancing your system. Listening environment acoustics, cabling, complimenting gear, etc. all make a difference. Time consuming...yes, worth it...yes. And your ear too!
