Vote for the Worst has a marginal effect at best. They had Tatiana in the first go-around and she's long gone.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Marginal enough to keep one of the worst singers in recent Idol history out of the bottom three! :D

Hot goes a long way. Just like Sanjaya, Vote for the Worst takes all the credit for him sticking around; how about the fact that a majority of Idol's viewership is tween girls and they thought he was ridiculously hot?

I can't believe Scott is still in it. WTH? Well maybe next week.

Was it just me or did the idols look like they were lip syncing during there medley bit? Actually I'm not sure that was even live and may have been prerecorded. I have to think it was lipsynced or dubbed-everything was in place-no mistakes.

Was lip synced. Fox came out last week and admitted that they sing along to their own pre-recorded vocals during that "performance".

    I knew it! ;)

Makes sense to me though. They are under tight schedules. I can't imagine having to do everything the contestants have to do. Its not like they didn't sing it at all.
And it is only during the group performance(s) which is not judged, so I'm OK with it.

What I don't care for is when a guest singer/group comes on the stage to perform a solo performance and they LipSync. No excuse for that IMHO.

But was it even performed live (meaning during the live broadcast)? I already deleted it from the DVR, but I don't recall seeing the audience even once during the most recent group performance. ??

No I think Ryan said something to the fact that they had performed it earlier when he was introducing the song. I only know that because I thought to myself "why the freak are they doing it this way?" Or maybe when he introduced the song they were all still sitting on the couch. I cannot remember exactly....but it was very obvious it was pre-recorded.

All the songs the contestants have performed together since the top twelve has been lip synced. That part has been very obvious.

Very good entertainment. It looks like there are at least 3 in the group that could have won it all in past seasons if they weren't facing each other.

American Idol just cracks me up, how in God's name can someone that obviously can't sing a lick keep coming back week after week?? Megan, until recently has had mega praise by the judges, now they can't wait to be rid of her much in the same way they wanted Sanjaya gone. lol I've never voted before but I'm really tempted to get on the speed dial and vote for Megan. lol

Man, I really didn't care for the performances tonight. I'm not sure why.

    My impressions from tonight:
Kris Allen - Pretty Dang Good - For me the best tonight.
Adam Lambert - Interesting-I liked it but stil a little over the top with to much of the high end.
Allison Iraheta - Pretty Good again, The hair was alright but I have to agree on the outfit .
Matt Giraud - Seemed nervous and shakey throughout.
Danny Gokey - Better than last week again - still heard him crack in the high notes-not sure why the judges aren't hearing that.
Anoop Desai - Didn't care for it. I felt exactly as Simon judged it. Just didn't fit.
Lil Rounds - Hmm, good in parts but again 'off' throughout most of the song- like shakey execpt during the power notes-Seemed she was struggling getting the vibrato going as well.
Megan Joy - Way way off tonight. Awful even-And she didn't even recognize :(
Scott MacIntyre - He still has got to go.

My pics for the bottom 3: No change here
Megan Joy - I hope she sticks around but does better
Lil Rounds - She's got potential-but need polishing
    Scott MacIntyre Yeay 80's ;)

I don't know WTH the judges are doing this season. Oddly enough, Simon seems to be the only one with any sense calling the bluffs of the other judges. Its always the same damn thing - "not the right song choice" or its about the way they dressed (OK comment but don't judge the performance on the way they dressed), or its about stage presense, 'don't stand behind the mic stand, 'the best tonight' (even if they were the first singer) or like with Anoop tonight-the way they compared him to Usher because he didn't dance around like Usher. I mean really-this is a singing competition-not a freakin talent show. I think they should judge them on the performance of the song they chose, not the choice of the song.
I think its pretty clear who the Judge's favs are.

I think that the judges should take a look at the song choices as soon as they're made and provide comments or song suggestions ahead of time.

She's trying not to move them because when she does she flops around in a weird way. I'm sure they said something to her.

Allison rocks!!! The outfit was weird though but I was pissed that was all they were talking about. She reminds me of Pink. She's awesome. Adam was FABULOUS girl! Not my cup of tea but he is very talented. Can't take that away.
Anoop was Asnooze. Chris was surprisingly the best performance of the night. He is really coming along and could really surprise us. Danny -( ok Michael McDonald/ Ironman ) was solid and Matt has a very good voice. He just wants to sing something that it's not AS suited for. He wasn't as bad as they said. LIL was good but she needs a lot of polishing and Scott. Scott Scott Scott....sigh. It WAS his best performance so far but he's gotsa go.

My picks for the bottom 3:

Matt - I've liked him, but he's gone downhill & was, imho, pretty bad last night.
Megan - I think she's got potential - lower registry sounds cool - but she aint finding it.
Anoop - He's ok, but just kinda boring to me.

Lil: Judges seem to dig her, but I just don't get why. Never have.
Kris: Keeps comin' on & getting better. Needs to lose the "scrunchy" face thing.
Adam: Great voice, just can't stand what he does with it. Don't like screeching.
Danny: Solid, great smokey voice. He's my fave.
Scott: Nice guy. Why's he still in the competition?
Allison: For her age, I'm still amazed, but the girl's still got some growing to do.

    Bottom 3:

    Megan
    Lil
    Matt

Scott did a great job last night, but I know now what bothers me; no matter how good he sings, there's something in his voice tone that I don't like.

Matt F'up last night; he's a great singer with a great voice, but nerves are killing him.

    Adam is growing on me.....

Allison and Danny should stay for a long while.

Kris was the best last night.

    +1

Her "Swan Song" was awful. She was acting extremly strange the whole night-first with the odd bird flap/squawk thing when going to the chairs, then the STUPID face when waiting for the final result. Somebode really needed to slap her then. Then the awful dancing/stage presence--I'll give her some play since she was upset and stuff, but dang.

I kinda wish they allowed the contestant to choose thier own final song-I mean who really wants to hear the song that likely led to thier demise?

Well I liked Megan up until this last week. She deserved to go. Horrible singing the last two weeks really.

Props to LADY GAGA!! Insane performance! I had to watch it twice i liked it so much. I hate pop/top 40 but wow I would even pay to see her in concert. By far one of the best AI performance in it's 8 year history.
