How many times do you have to buy an xbox 360?

My Jasper Arcade that I bought in February '09 started to exhibit the "not reading" the disc issue (specifically in COD:MW) last night. It took several tries and my son tapped on the top of the console, and after 3 tries, it works again. This morning I can't replicate the problem. I tried several discs and it works fine. I used CD optical cleaner last night, and used canned air to blow the inside opening a bit.

Here are my questions:

1. My warranty is about to expire in about 10 days. It appears the disc tray not reading is related to optical mechanism. Should I send it in to be checked?
2. Anyone with Jasper, have you guys running into this problem?
3. If I send it in, would I be gambling with getting a refurb Non-Jasper console when I get it back? (since RROD is not an issue with Jasper)

ps: just finished playing BF:BS2 and overall it is not that bad. Is not as intense as COD:MW2. nevertheless, it is pretty entertaining.

As far as I can tell, if you send them a console and it works properly, they will send the same one back and possibly charge you for shipping, but not 100% on that. As far as your other questions, I don't even know what jasper is so can't help you there

Like I stated above, I had that problem a few weeks ago but its been working fine ever since.
