I guess you've never been scammed before then. When I got scammed out of more than $1,000 and the seller didn't respond, I had to fix it myself. Maybe a loose connection inside the amp?

Never been scammed. My point was look at the pictures of the amp Steve received. He needs a refund period.

At least the seller is willing to talk. Most of the time they just disappear off the face of the earth.

    After reading this ...

" At any rate, I am very tired of repeating myself. I have sent an email claim form to UPS and they "will attempt to reach the buyer within 3 days". I will do what they ask and comply fully with any requests for info. If they will not grant a claim (due to improper handling at the buyer's end), then this issue is over as far as I'm concerned. If they do send me a check, I will happily give it to the buyer (as long as I have the amp, of course). I will not waste any more of anybody's time (mine or yours) on this untill there is news from UPS. "

Yahoo and Hotmail accounts are throwaways to begin with, half the forums out there now wont even let you sign up with one of those accounts...they want a REAL email address.

He wasnt much worried about his Ebay account ...he threw that out there in his original for sale thread to verify his worthiness.

Funny thing is, the last book he sold on Ebay was ....

This lil f***er needs to pay up. Don't you have his address, Steve? I'm sure there are some Polkies located with driving distance that could "amicably" resolve this if the seller decides to wait for UPS to move their slow asses. If he's near Philly, I know I will.

I can't even believe I got someone suckered into this ****. Not even my dime, but I feel I been used. To say it was a slight scratch would be hard to find unless you're looking for it what a joke. Then pack in a thin box with just about nothing to protect from bumps in shipping then expert the seller to deal with the shipper. Just unbelievable :(

Another thing, if any of you fine, educated, or at the very least informed people (especially the recipiants) would have seen what computer case that was, you would understand that the box was not for a basic $15, 3 lb. box, it was for a Coolermaster Cosmos, one of the most solidly built computer cases available, which empty, weighs about 40lbs. This box has trasported my complete tower (weighing over 60lbs, and taking up much more space than a typical computer case) without issue.

That box was designed to carry a 37.2 pound EMPTY tower case WITH proper inserts shaped to the cosmos to distribute the load evenly to the inside of the box....THATS why it worked shipping your 60+ pound completed tower.

That amp was in no way shaped like the pc case ( So you couldnt use coolermasters inserts like you did with the loaded tower ) ....so you stuffed some crappy bubble wrap and peanuts in there for a new load that weighed basically DOUBLE what the empty case weighed

If you look at this picture.....

    qssdg9.jpg

.....you can see what happened to the first person at UPS who used the factory handle for the box. It ripped clean out of their hands and most definitely fell out of their grasp and caused the additional damage to the package.

Believe me, the " Fine educated " people on this forum know how to package a 73 pound amplifier for shipping.....only an uneducated , non-caring... hoping for MORE damage in shipping... individual would have packaged that amplifier in the manner you did and expect it to get ANYWHERE in one piece.

Do whats only right....pay the man his full purchase price and YOU go try and collect your 400 from UPS.

I take it nobody's jumped at the chance to grab the subwoofer still for sale....

This subwoofer is about 1 1/2 years old and is in excellent condition. The top is very glossy and has some very faint scratches.

...I mean it only has a FEW scratches and I am sure he has some peanuts and bubble wrap leftover from packing the amp :D

I am in the business of packing and shipping and there is no way that even close to being packed adequetly. If The UPS store packed it (which I highly doubt) then they are 100% responsible for it and they should refund the money you paid to ship it pl;us what it was insured for so you can make the buyer whole.

IT"S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE THE BUYER WHOLE EVEN IF UPS BLOWS IT OFF.

You are a complete moron for sending a 70lb amp packed like that. I can tell you being in the mail and parcel industry that perhaps the UPS store doesn't pack as well as many of other 'mom and pop' independents, but I know a 3rd grader down the street who could do a better job. So even if UPS packed it you should have had enough sense to speak up and say that's not good enough, you are a moron.

    I'm finished.

This I don't get . You were paid $575 plus shipping by the buyer, so if you get reimbursed from UPS for $ 575 you'll send him $575 but he has to send the amp back.

    575 + 575 = 1,150 - 575 = 575. So you get to keep 575 and get the amp back . That's called fraud.

I can tell you for a certain fact that if you have no proof the UPS Store packed that item you are SOL, and you owe the buyer some money back..........out of your own pocket. UPS NEVER pays a damage claim unless you can prove (as the shipper) proper packing care was taken.

Chris my co-work who I got him suck in to this ****. He paid $560 Dylan price was $475, $70 for shipping, then $15 for PayPal. So today he got a reply from UPS and yes the seller would be given the cash back from them if they did it, right ;) But his insurance was only for $400 bucks. I told him tonight to forget that UPS **** if this **** got $400 he wouldn't give back to Chris and he needed to ship it back so he still is out for $230 $160 plus $70 to ship it back right ;)

Told him to do this with his CC so they could get it back from PayPal then PayPal can get it back from him.

Wont UPS want to see the packaging and the amp ?
And if they decide to pay out the insurance on the item, doesnt it become their ( UPS ) property ?

With Fed ex....they delivered my package damaged ( I was the buyer ) ....I contacted the seller...he made the claim with Fedex....Fed ex came back to my house and picked up the damaged package.....the seller was paid his insurance money and shipped me out a new package. He never got the damaged item back...it stayed with Fed ex.

Just wondering how UPS is gonna work this ????

And if you dont want the seller getting his 400 ....tell him to send you your money before giving the amp/packaging back to UPS for inspection/claim purposes....because HE is the one going to get the 400 from UPS after they pickup/inspect the item.

Get a claim going with Pay Pal if you can. Pay pal is quick to back up the buyer.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.

Actually they are pretty good....a friend of mine got an amp off of Ebay and paid with PayPal. The amp came and was dead...it actually looked like it had been submerged under water. My friend negatived the seller...the seller negatived my buddy....ugly emails flew back and forth.

Then my friend made a claim with Paypal and included all email responses from the seller....I told him he would never see a dime. It took a month but they sided in my friends favor and he got all his money back from Paypal...I was impressed.

Steve, you could include this thread with your Paypal claim....I bet you would get back every dime ( Or your friend actually ) .
