Austin went no smoke in any building not to long ago--Actually it was done over a period of a few years -- but now can't even smoke in the clubs--

I go to visit my hometown in San Angelo every great once in awhile--- so weird to walk into a place of business & there are ash trays on all the tables -- ppl smokin while others are eating & no body is concerned at all --

Big city might as well go marshal law -- if ya drive over the speed limit -- get a ticket in the mail

If ya drink to much -- the chip in your neck will let BIG BROTHA know to send ya a ticket ---

If ya drive more miles than anyone else-- ya should pay more tax

Austin Tx -- the self proclaimed live music capital of the world-- has a noise ordinance for outside music--

ok im done -- im a smoker & do not smoke in my own house cause second hand smoke stinks -- don't think second hand smoke is cool & would never want to affect anyone else with my bad habit

I think it's good that smoking was banned in clubs for the none smokers but at same time, it's a kick in face for the ppl who own the clubs

I love it how people **** over second hand smoke. Complaining about how it is killing them. I bet many of them are drivers that do dangerous speeds and manuvers that can kill an innocent person in an instance. Much faster than a smoker MIGHT kill them with second hand smoke. I'd rather take my chances with something that will probably never harm me than have to share the road with most of the idiot drivers out there.

I remember watching something years about about the statistics used for second hand smoke deaths. They noted that if you die in a fire, you're used in the statistics for fire deaths and smoking related deaths. Same thing for anyone that dies inhalling anything smokey and dying from it. Wish I could remember what news program it was.

In burbank, CA you can get a ticket if you even walk past certain places while smoking (20' law).

How hard is it to deal with a little smoke? Geeze

I was working today with two smokers. Every time we walked between the buildings they lit up.
NOT A BIG FRIGGIN DEAL. In a crowded bar, smoke was a problem. Out in the open, no problem
for anyone. That part I don't get.

I do hate randon butt tossing. A long time ago as a GI, I really hated butt
detail. Picked up some other *hole's butts off the ground gets old fast.
Tossing them out the window seems to be normal pratice on the roadways.
Note: Tejas in the summertime is dry. In Texas and Oklahoma, thats how all
those grassfires get started. I guess it boils down to if you smoke outside,
I don't care. Just put the damn things out in the appropriate place and I
    won't complain.

I completely agree. As an ex-smoker I know I never tossed a butt in places they shouldn't be. I remember a few times having a lit butt hit my car because someone driving and smoking just tossed it out their window. Or where I live I park next to a two story building where people smoke on the roof. I always find butts on my windshield, hood, roof, etc. One day I'm going to catch one of them and they'll be the one(s) being tossed off the roof (not on my vehicle, though). :D

Why would you ask me to deal with a little of anything that is hazardous to my health?

How about a little rat poison in your food or just a little bit of lead in your water? A little bit of lead won't kill you instantly but over time it can, just like cigarette smoke.

Ok, here goes. All you whiney non-smokers think about this. Your fu(king car exhaust poses a health risk to me and my family and the earth.

    Stop driving.

Ever heard of carbon monoxide poisoning? Well, I've had it and it came from motorists just like you. So, tell you what. I'm going to march right on up to the Supreme Court and demand that for the health and safety of the "public"k"", that nobody can use a device that gives off carbon monoxide. Have fun mowing your yard.

The non-smokers are complaining that we [smokers] are causing health problems via second hand smoke and they have the skewed data to back it up. Well, I can also produce skewed data that proves that vehicle emissions are affecting health [ask someone who lives in Hong Kong or L.A.] worldwide.

It's ridiculous to me that the non-smokers play the "my health is compromised" card when dealing with those that prefer to smoke, yet at the same time vehicles and the emissions that are just as bad, if not worse than second hand smoke continues.

I've never gotten "second hand smoke poisoning".

Some people's priorities are not what I would consider "normal". Convenient for them, perhaps, but not normal.

If you stop driving I'll stop too.

Great argument. BTW I have a prius, not exactly killing people with emissions.

I rode my bike for 14 years. Yes, 14 years. I think I have paid my dues to the ecology. The ONLY reason I drive now is because I have to tow close to 10,000 lbs of crap to do what I need to do to make a living.

That's fine, you HAVE to drive and you HAVE to have a large vehicle capable or towing 10,000 lbs or crap. I understand your need to make a living.

Your argument about not driving does not hold water as you just admitted you are incapable or doing what you propose everyone else do.

You don't NEED TO SMOKE. You do it (assuming you actually smoke since I don't know whether you do or don't) because you're either addicted or simply because you chose to. Also fine, but your choice to smoke should not impact me so I think it's perfectly reasonable to ask people to walk outside to smoke.

To be honest I really don't care about how you'd like to try and convince people the smoking laws are ridiculous and us non-smokers are whinny babies. The laws are already passed and I've already gotten what I wanted, so arguing is pointless because you've already lost.

I wonder what has happended to natural selection. It seems to have stalled a bit, otherwise we wouldn't have people crying over smoking, metrosexuals, gun bans and environmentalist trying to blame humans for destoying the world with carbon dioxide when we only make 10% of the total (volcanos, decaying plants and forest fires make up most of the rest).

Oh that's nice, wishing someone dead......real nice.

Anyway, thanks for proving, once again, that people like you are the real problem today and for showing everyone what a self centered little **** you truly are.

I'm self centered for agreeing that people who wish to kill themselves with smoke (I don't need to wish you dead, smoking will take care of that) shouldn't have the right to also harm others with it? Yea, that makes a lot of sense.

I'm an ex-smoker and the only thing that ever makes me wish I never quit are the over vocal, crying, boo hoo you're killing me with second hand smoke, whiners. They bring out my sharing nature....sharing my smoke that is.

Bet most of the major whiners that complain about second hand smoke killing them load up on transfats, aspartame, hold cell phones to their heads, dial and hold a phone while driving, text while driving, etc.... But of course that won't kill them. Only second hand smoke will.
