Yes. 1990. RTA 15t- that's what the original box says. Still sound fine, although I just bought a pair of 1.2TL's and the comparison isn't fair.

Yes. Still have my 1986 or 87 whatever year I bought them new. SDA 1C's studio. Pretty much the only speakers I ever play and I have a set of RTI 12's and a set of old Large Advents. But still the only speakers I play all the time.

Sure do. Got my SDA SRS back in 2012 from a neighbor. Since then have got 2 sets of 11's and a pair of 5jr's "thanks to my wife" on part of them. Over the weekend, put the SDA's back in the loop "been playing with the others" prior to that. All I can say is wow they sound good and yes they are still mostly stock. Since I have a few hours til the misses gets home, gonna play some tunes ..
  • No. I sold my nearly-perfect RTA 8t's in Apr 2013 for a hundred fifty, and I am still kicking myself in the behind for "giving them away." Best speakers I ever owned! (Well, until I bought my LSi15s, anyway.) :D
  • I still use my monitor 70,s for side surround duty. Still like them, one way or another I will find good use for them.

I bought a set of slightly used Monitor 10B in 1990. Then, an LF14 the same year. Still have them. I added another LF14 a few years ago and now they are in the garage.
  • I bought my Monitor 10's in march 1970. Just recently had to buy new tweeters but they are still an incredible sound.

My first set was a set of European Monitor 60's, the T90e's. My girlfriend (now wife) bought them for my for Christmas. It was the start of my audio journey (bet she regrets that gift now lol)...

I had em for a few years, upgraded to the LSi 15's from @nooshinjohn‌ and a full LSi HT. I moved them to my office.

They were then replaced with RTA 11TL's I bought off @dragon1952‌ in Chicago IIRC.

I then sold the T90e's to @daboyz‌ , who sold them to @dromunds‌ who sold/gave them to his cousin....

My first set was the RT15i's, I think. I still have them packed in the original boxes.

They are great speakers, just can't let myself sell them for some reason???

  • No. Let me simply state that back in 1987, I parted with all my gear acquired up to that time. I needed to buy wheels so me and the bride-to-be could get around. Up until then, or her, my equipment was everything to me and I had acquired a lot, including a pair of SRSs I had just gotten out of layaway at AAFES.

I didn't return to audio until our daughter was a teenager. Those who remember my brief appearance here in 2007-08 followed by my sudden, unexplained departure will remember that upon my eventual return last year, it had been due to the daughter's car crash. Only a few months after my return, the wife's heart attack.

These dang women do more to interfere with my day-to-day activities than I would have expected back in 1987. That said, and wistfully thinking about those brand-spanking new SRSs, I still would have sold them given the joy these two ladies have brought to my life... And now there's another lady. My granddaughter.

Hopefully, grand-dad will have his act together audio-wise well before she drives. Besides, nowadays I have more gear than I'd have dared to imagine in 1987. It's really strange, the things we'll do for love. I love my SDAs, but life being what it is, I always wonder what will be the next cause for separation. I really hope this time it will be 'til death do us part.
