The first ones - still have the boxes, manual, receipt and the 4.5s I bought from Dennis at Creative Stereo, Thousand Oaks, CA on June 16th, 1989 for 243.00 plus tax.

3 weeks later I bought a set of 1.2TLs from him for $2998 plus tax and I still have them, the boxes, manual and receipt. The manual and serial number stickers say 1.2 not 1.2TL, the boxes were made saying 1.2 and had big stickers plastered on 'em to say 1.2TL. I recall reading somewhere that 1.2TLs came out in 1990, but I got these in 1989 and yup they came with SL3000s.

Bought my SDA SRS in 1985 or 1986 and still have them. Thanks to information in this forum, I upgraded the xover in the last few months and are they sounding better than ever. Always enjoyed the sound.

Puchased in Atlanta, and they have moved with me to the coast of GA through two houses. Drove them with an Adcom GFA 555 for 25 years, and changed amps to the Parasound A21 and and P3 preamp this past December.

They are good to go for another 25 years. Hard not to like the SDA SRS sound.

Nope. Bought a pair of 5B's in 1987. Parted with them long ago, but just found a pair of 1RTA 12's and love them.

I purchased a pair of SDA 2a's in the early to mid 80's. Still have them and am enjoying them. Upgraded tweeters to the 194's. The crossover network will be the next upgrade. I've changed amp, processor, disc player but not these speakers.

Bought my RTA 12C's from a local dealer in August '84. In the last 3-4 months I've rebuilt the crossovers, dynamatted MW's and PR's,internally rewired them with teflon insulated OCC copper, mortited the MW's and PR's, installed spikes.

I'll use them for another 20 years!

I still have my SDA CRS's from 1985:biggrin:
I had a Yamaha R-100 receiver powering them and a Carver CD player & Nakamichi deck:smile:
They're still hooked up to the Yammy & Carver but the Nak has moved on.

I have my Monitor 60's in my office. Even when I get my 2 channel rig upgraded they will stay as my wife wants me to hang onto them since they are her christmas gift to me from our first year together.

So they will go in a closet somewhere and probably into a garage rig at some point lol....

shipping is always the caveot. I am looking at a pair of RTi12s for 350.00. Might sell the RTA8ts if I do. I would kill me though. They are like part of the family.

Reported way back when, but here's a pic. The other looks just as good and the grills look mint as well, except for the logo pins. They're my baby's for sure

Vintage or not and how long have you had them and what model are they. Give as much info as you want or as little. Pics optional.

I bought my 2b's (studio vinyl walnut) used in the early 90's for $650 I think. They are all original except I bypassed the polyswitches and added a capacitor to the tweeters. I use them the most out of all the speakers I own (about 6 pair, 4 pair are polks). They are part of my solid state rig where I listen to the radio and vinyl and cd's of course.

    Yes, since 1984, SDA-CRS.

In all seriousness he had a way of being unrelenting about certain subjects he was asked not to talk about by the mods. He was even temporarily banned and let back, but he continued to self destruct and become very irrational. Sometimes you just wear out your welcome.

I say tweak away, but you'll certainly be scrutinized a little bit for it, many here aren't push overs. No worries.

Yes, SDA-2, but they are sitting in the dining room gathering dust. Along with a pair of Monitor something, two something else (I do not feel like moving stuff to get the model numbers), two LSi7s, and an LSiC. Along with a ton of subs, both bought and free. For a while every time you bought a Polk speaker from Crutchfield you got a free sub.

Four LSi15s, and a PSW1000, are still running the HT.
Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
