Duracells have deeper bass than Energizers. -

Now see that is BS...everyone knows all you need is those cheap-**** batteries from the dollar store.:p"SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

No, I'll bet he is correct but I'm thinking the energizers would be quicker sounding.

But none of them have quite the "inner detail" of the Ray-O-Vacs. -

NO NO NO! You get much better sound with "audiophile approved" batteries. -

I don't care what kind of batteries we use. If The kids are out of the house and we get wild enough, the batteries in that rabbit thing only last about 2 hours.Michael

I hooked up a pair of Diehards to my R30's, and I definitely could tell a difference in the sound.
I was also able to pop popcorn off the tweeter at the same time, so my listening experience was definitely enhanced.
The only problem I experienced was the 22-gauge wire running along the floor to the R30's got a little hot and kind of melted into the carpet. I'm going to go to Loews and get some bell wire. That's what I used for the front doorbell, and my doorbell sounds pretty clear (can hear it throughout the house), so I figured it would help bring out the highs a little better on the silk dome tweeters.
If nothing else, it should reduce popping time for my Act III popcorn.
Anybody got any suggestions ?

Well, I suspect that much like a sub, for it to be tight sounding, it must be sealed, and since it's pretty obvious that the bear's ****$ was ported instead of sealed, the smart money is on a boomy plopping sound. -
Ok if battery does a 9v work better then a AA?
