Makes sense, we have several very large silver maples near the house. That moth stayed on the screen from mid afternoon until sometime into the night. I was even pushing on it but it would not budge.Yep, my name really is Bob.

We had one do essentially the same thing one day at the ol' (MA) house some years back -- At the time, I went to the good ol' Golden Field Guide to Butterflies and Moths :-) to ID it. Today I just Googled "large yellow and pink moth", since of course I didn't remember the name!

Well, if we're doing bugs now...
...how about an orange grasshopper?
My son thought it was cool enough to photograph. -
-
Someone say bugs? I had a dragonfly hit my window and fall to the sidewalk, so I took the liberty of posing it while it was in a stunned state. Did the same thing with a bird.

This is a beaver that was causing mass destruction that I had to eliminate.

These 2 little guys just running around living it up, with no parental supervision. Oddly enough, right next to the neighborhood playground, with kids and a few dogs around and they didn't even seem to mind at all.

Dragonflies -- my son went through a "dragonfly" phase early in his photography hobby arc. The conservation land behind our house was chock-full of 'em in the midsummer.
Here're a few :-) of his photos that I really like (indeed, we have prints hanging in our home of a couple of his dragonfly photos).
These guys weren't stunned, they were just in repose ;-)

Those are really nice. My pictures always pale in comparison to the ones you post! Those shots had to be difficult to take because dragonflies don't seem to sit still for more than a couple seconds. In a different thread I was talking about Blu-ray picture quality and how the movie Aliens was so grainy. Digital vs. Film was discussed. Which do you prefer in photography? I think there is a place for both. But for me personally, I was getting sick of paying the have a roll developed only to find one or two good pictures in the bunch. If you are having actual prints made, do you prefer one over the other? As much as I dislike watching a grainy movie, I've seen some really awesome grainy photographs. Especially black and white ones.

My son's photos those are! I am not nearly that skillful, nor that patient, nor that good with composition.
I think it's safe to say that he and I both prefer film. I am too lazy to use film any more, though.
Heck, he went to Germany for a meeting last month and he only took his very vintage Leica IIIg and film! :-)
He's posting his German photos now...

ach, those Germans have a wacky sense of humor! ;-)
Both digital and film can make good prints; actually in terms of resolution (in terms of image quality or color palette), you (still) can't beat slow-speed, medium or large format film.
Like I'm gonna disagree? ;-)

Actually I did take this photo -- not bad, but my son's tube photos are still better! -
