    :-)

Horsetails are, in fact, extremely primitive plants. They're also a bit too small to be... umm... repurposed ;-)
There are a whole bunch of 'em growing along the road down the hill from us.
We finally had a nice, sunny day today, so after I finished my yard chores I grabbed a camera and tele zoom and trundled down to take some photos.

Just took this out the DR window... Spring hunting season's open on these guys (the toms) in NH -- so this one is puttin' natural selection to the test...

Not so bad - to some extent, Photobucket'll manage that for you... and the Polk forum s/w gives it a scroll bar...

Invasion of the turkeys! Our area is overrun, usually traveling in packs...or flocks of 25 to 35. Next will be the invasion of the turkey ticks.

May was hunting season for toms in NH -- we're not seeing any turkeys at all lately... I assume that at least hens and chicks will be (re)appearing soon, though...

The homeowners in this area keep feeding them, so now they are becoming somewhat tame and approaching homes. Same with the deer, which I don't like because they keep jumping out in front of cars. A friend damaged his hood and windshield to his car two years ago when I deer jumped onto the hood.
