Paul W. Klipsch recorded his own material for speaker demonstrations, beginning with mono and moving to stereo in the early 1950s (at least 5 years before the first commercial stereo release) - eventually launching an entire KlipschTape division of the company. Jazz, spiritual, orchestral, and organ music were the favored tracks of the day – along with stereo sound effects like ping-pong matches and trains passing by. PWK is shown here duplicating tapes for dealers in the Klipsch studio, now the Klipsch Museum of Audio History. The museum has several hundred KlipschTape recordings in its digital archives, as well as preserving the original recording equipment. Images provided for Throwback Thursday by the Klipsch Museum of Audio History from the forthcoming book, Klipsch 75 Years - A Pictorial History.Post edited by [Deleted User] on -

Mr. Klipsch with an Ampex.
... and lord-knows- what to his left!
Meanwhile... I know I've posted this before: My dad, with the same model Ampex (albeit a mono morph -- for AM radio location recording!).

yeah, I noticed that speaker
It looks sort of like a proto Cornie (ahem, Cornwall), with a very thin (diffraction?) MR horn -- or is that a vent? It also looks like a corner cabinet(?).
There were myriad "Klipsch licensed" enclosures in the late 1950s that at least peripherally similar in appearance.
'Tis a puzzlement, isn't it?
EDIT: hmmm... maybe a Klipsch "Rebel" ('shorthorn') variant?

I dunno, @KennethSwauger -- this is your second Jerry Lewis post (at least to my knowledge). I am beginning to suspect... that you might be... French.
(The French, as you probably know, have long had this thing about Jerry Lewis' comedy)

I am hereby offended that someone took offense at your being offended by someone else’s offense at something they found offensive.... Or something like that...."Conservative Libertarians love the country, progressive leftists love the government." - Andrew Wilkow
