Growing up, I knew a kid in the neighborhood named that.

There was a football player at the University of Georgia who played linebacker in the 60's (see below). I remember UGA games on TV when announcers such as Keith Jackson had a difficult time saying his name. He was always referred to by his nickname and last name.
There is another interesting story involving Author Lewis Grizzard who was enrolled at UGA at the same time. He was a a 20-year-old newspaper writer in Athens who used the upcoming football game with the South Carolina Gamecocks and the possibility "Happy" would miss the game as an opportunity to create an unusual headline.

^^^ Are those rechargeable?
-
these two did gyre and gambol around over the back yard this morning. Way over the back yard, but over it indeed. Even with a long telephoto lens, they were still kinda small in the frame. Still cool to see 'em on a gorgeous early-fall morning.
-
Did you salute them and sing “God Bless the USA”?Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!!

I think they’re vultures. Maybe not, hellz, I’m blind.

Note the tails.
Vultures soar on "V" wings and tend teeter as the-- these two's wings were broad and flat. In the sun, their white heads & tails were unmistakable. The birders can recognize 'em way off. "they look like flying ironing boards", say the birders -- their wings are long and the "chord" of their wings is deep.
Plus, we saw them lower -- they'd just headed up quite a bit by the time I got back out with the camera.
They're quite common along the Connecticut River, which is just a few miles from here by car -- but even closer as the crow eagle flies.
Actually, turkey vultures are common here, too
-
Nice. That’s why I tried to recant, zoomed in and noticed the tails. (:

I actually worked with a guy with that name. I was fun to hear his name over the plant intercom, especially with the Southern accent common in NC. -

When I worked at a small biotech in Cambridge (a long time ago) our Hitachi sales rep was named Mike Hunt. I bought a pretty fancy spectrofluorimeter from him. I got a cool green Hitachi necktie with the two-letter atomic symbols for the elements embroidered on it*. Ahh, memories.
__________
* Still have the tie I used the shipping crate for the fluorimeter to make a compost bin when we lived in MA. It served well but ultimately composted itself.
