what the heck is that? Looks wicked. Judging by the turbines its mid 60's?

    B58 Hustler?

Yes it's a Hustler. Wicked airplane (in every sense of the word). Same engines (well... mostly) were used to power the Convair 990 commercial jetliner. Also a wicked, and, when all was said & done, wickedly unsuccessful aircraft. :(

    Cool as heck, though.

Politics killed the Hustler. Then they chopped them up real quick.

It just dawned on me -- I don't think that beautiful white Bronco has any windshield wipers. Mine had a big plastic cover thingy over the mechanism -- at the top of its (hinged) windshield. :|

Were that white one mine -- I think I'd invest in a roll bar, too. :)

IIRC, I think they had a tendency to kinda kill their crews.
They also were bombers when the strategy was moving missle-wards.

I really like the Raptor. When I arrived at my Squadron HMM-764 in April 2001 at Edwards AFB CA, they were still testing the F22. Our squadron was moved there from El-Toro when Bill Clinton closed a bunch of bases. On a almost daily basis while working on our CH46E SeaKnights we would see the F22s testing. They would roll right past us and head to the runway. Got so see a few up real close at the wash rack. Cockpit was unlike anything I had seen before. The skin of the aircraft has a very unfamiliar texture.

We got to see a lot of cool things at Edwards AFB. Airbus A380 testing. My very first day on the flight line my wife and I watched an F35 doing a vertical take off. Did not see much of the F35 after that. They must have been wrapping up their testing there. Seen two Space Shuttle landings. Seeing a 747 with the Shuttle mounted on top take off was pretty amazing! I never saw it fly but there was a SR71 with yellow NASA printed on the tail and a large long aerodynamic looking contraption on top, parked near the wash rack. I think it might have been an experimental ram or scram jet engine on top. Watched a U2 take off. It looked like it was going 45 mph but pitched up and just climbed out of sight. We had a B17 parked behind our hanger for a week during an air show. Got to climb all over it. They are a lot smaller than they look on TV. That was a treat as my Grandfather was a Crew Chief and door Gunner on the Judy J B17 over Germany based out of England. We would see several Global Hawk/Predator drones. I think they were practicing from what was then Indian Springs AFB in NV but is now known as Creech AFB. Us Marines did all our night vision flight training at Indian Spings AFB before it became Creech. Our training unit HMMT-164 was based at Camp Pendleton San Diego CA. Air space was too conjested and there was too much light pollution for safe night vision training. So we went to the NV desert north of Vegas, Indian Springs.

Well, I think that's the longest post I've ever made.

They are just outside Edwards AFB. Lancaster and Palmdale are the main areas outside the base. And the closest In-N-Out burger. Lockheed's Skunkworks is in Palmdale.

The A12 was the predecessor to the SR71 right? Or was the A12 the CIA plane and the SR71 the USAF plane?

Correct. Depending how diehard some of you may be about this vehicle, the color should give it away. It is a stock color for this particular whip.
Need to get some better pictures, but we’re closing in on the finish, and I never think ahead of time to shoot my work.

Damn son, your good! Actually my buddy told me I’m wrong. This color wasn’t factory to his vehicle, but it was factory to early 70’s Mustang. Ford Grabber Blue...
This is a hybrid ‘69-‘71 Bronco. I’ll get better pics another day.
Edit- I didn’t mean anything by saying son, it’s just how I talk, no disrespect intended.

@CH46E My son and I love military aircraft.
He could rattle of specs on war birds when he was 12 that would make grown men’s jaws drop. Ha!
I miss going to Wright Pat with him.
What did the pilots think of the thrust vector turning?

Please bro! Aint no snowflake here. It would take a LOT more than that to bother me.

Fiy, here is my favorite photo of my watch collection. You may need to "zoom in" to see the "watches".

Not sure. Never spoke directly to a raptor pilot. Only the ground crew. Id imagine they like it. My wife's cousin is a F15 pilot. He was one of the pilots that hit a "pharmaceutical" company in Iraq that was featured on the national evening news several years ago.

Belgian Malinois actually. She was imported and trained by Garrison and Slone to be a bomb detection dog but her handler beat her. It ruined her at 8 months old. We took her home at 12 months old and she is a prime example of a pure bred Belgian Malinois.

Oh man. Yes with all that property you have. For sure.
So far she has taken a squirrel, a rabbit a black racer snake and a possum. Possum was just last week in my neighbors yard. I'm afraid she is going to get sick. She is no joke..... a prey driven killing machine.

Gorgeous dog. Oh, I know what she is, should have said Belgian. Von Liche kennels is here in Indiana. I’ve built many a K-9 kennel in commissions for officers across the country.
Many of them have Malinois as a partner.
    Damn, miss that job.

The only thing I don't miss about her is she absolutely hated skunks! She'd prance home all happy with a dead skunk and her face was soaked with spray. Clearly mace would not deter her from ripping the throat out of an intruder.

Luckily I developed a fool proof de- skunk recipe

Teddy. Half Belgian half German Shepherd. At night the only way you could see him was if he showed his teeth. He fell in love with the elderly couple a few houses down so I gave him away. He spent more time there then here anyway.
Pretty sure their house is secure.
