Light isn’t a big deal, but electrical tape or window tint stickers would fix it if it bugs you.

If anyone has access to their 707s, could you measure the centerline distance between the spikes, both front and back? I took some pictures but the camera flash made the tape measure unreadable...

I have the plinth width at ~9.5" front, ~11" rear. The picture below is when I installed them on the A7s back in 2010.

    Thanks in advance!

Not a stupid question! Those are the outrigger bars being mounted to the inserts on the bottom of the speaker. The adjustment knobs on the ends hadn't been installed quite yet.

Exactly! And with the super-thick rugs that my media room has, I don't want to take any chances on these being knocked over. Plus I'm in earthquake country, which is all the more reason...

boston, the pictures below are the finished outriggers on the A7s...

I didn't think to remove the plastic feet entirely - I just used the screwholes where the factory spikes were installed. I agree that the feet were the weak link for an otherwise good-looking design...

For 707 owners, I just measured the plinth/spikes:
Front - plinth width ~10", spikes ~7" centers
Rear - plinth width ~11", spikes ~8.5" centers

Soundocity outriggers size SBN9 or larger. I have SBN7/SBN9 on the RTiA7s, so ordered SBN11s and SBN13s (2 sets each) to give me plenty of choices for the 707s.

Pics below show current install on thick rug:

Yes they did - the A7s feel quite solid. So I'm expecting the same when installed on the 707s, especially with ordering the two wider sizes earlier today.

It's that fuzzy math that an erstwhile US leader warned us about, methinks.

    ;)

I mean, I am guessin' it means they're trying harder (and/or have to try harder) to get rid of 707s than 705s. Either that, or they have a stockpile of more dinged up 707s than they do of 705s.

    Purely speculatin' here.

Yea must be the level of stock they have.

I bought the 707's earlier this month, these prices are unbelievable. And they came perfect, no dings/dents so they are definitely new stock. must have a pile of them.

The ones that @manticore has (also from one of their recent, big discount sales, IIRC) certainly look perfect to me.

In case anyone was interested, the outriggers arrived today and a quick check seems to show that the SBN13s will fit on the rear but not the front. Pictures below show the bars lying next to the plinth as I don't have time to install tonight...

They fit as mentioned - the #11s on the front, #13s on the back. The #13s' slots were spaced too far apart to use on the front which is what I had preferred.

Since the outrigger spikes were just a bit longer than the factory spikes, I used the factory spikes to attach the outriggers to the plinth, and the outrigger spikes were then screwed all the way down into the floorboard. The other option was to run to the hardware store and buy eight new bolts that were the same thread/pitch as the factory spikes which would have been removed.

All in all the speakers seem much more solid than just using the factory spikes on the thick rug. I just watched "Yesterday" on Blu-ray (saw in theater when it came out) and have to say the LSiMs sounded damn good - I'm very happy with the upgrade from the RTis...

If you have two spare conductors in that flex tubing, you should double-up the "+" and "-" runs. The wire seems like a relatively small gauge compared to your jumpers and that adjustment could make a noticeable improvement.

Looks great. Likely just not seeing this right, but is your center not angled at all? If its not I'd suggest doing that. If it is then my apologies.

Good observation - I ran three sets of those wires (Monoprice 12ga, 4-conductor cable) for the L+C+R about five years ago when I transformed the room. The center is biwired from the dedicated Emo XPA-100 amp but I never decided whether to biwire the L+R speakers also, or double-up on the conductors for an equivalent 9ga wire. So they are currently wired as you noticed. Maybe that'll be my next evening project...

Thanks for the compliments - and nothing to apologize for, Enders! The picture was a bit dark so it was hard to see. The center is angled up on Auralex pads (link), on top of the Salamander amp stand...
