Awright I warned yous guys this was coming.
One Oppomod BD-ROM stabilizer install.
Heeeeeeerrrrrrrre we go!
-
Out come the 9 screws on the back holding the top cover.
Then the four on the side (two per side) -
Once again using separate cups so I do not mix the screws up -
Next the audio board has to come out and doing some dusting while I’m at it
(happy @nooshinjohn ???😝😉)
-
Meanwhile I’m grilling a Pork Roast
-
Ten screws on the back to (and remember the two on the extreme ends of the board are different than the ones above the RCA jacks. They’re also positioned lower than the ones above the RCA jacks. -
You remove the rubber bump stops which help to keep the top up and then remove the screws inside.
Then remove these two on the side
-
Don’t forget that one -
-
Got my retractable antenna magnet 🧲 in case I drop any screws inside the unit.
-
Remove the electricals and then out comes the board!
-
That 👆🏽gets replaced by this👇🏽
For this of you who haven’t been following, that is a Clones Audio power supply upgrade that I installed a few months ago to the left of the transport.
-
These screws are pretty small requiring a different screwdriver.
-
Very first screw falls down into the unit. Magnet 🧲 to the rescue
-
Then ya gotta get an even smaller flathead screwdriver to pry the cover out.
-
Two screws and this comes out.
You need to be VERY CAREFUL when removing the tiny screws holding these pieces in place. I dropped one inside the unit and it disappeared. -
Holding the magnet 🧲 in place while unscrewing these little ones now, in order to not lose another one inside the unit.
-
Not sure if you can tell in the pics just how much more substantial the upgrades are compared to the old, thin, sheet metal and plastic ones.Post edited by honestaquarian on -
CURSES! 🤬!
I dropped two of those tiny little screws inside the unit and they got stuck up under something and I can’t seem to shake them free! -
Russ @lightman1 this is all your fault!!

Dinner 🍽 time

The pork roast is exquisite
-
I’ll get her back together today and put her back in the equipment rack (once again doing this upgrade was easier than reinstalling her in that rack!)
I gotta try and find those two screws first.
-
@Mikey081057 this is all yo damn fault for starting this thread and pushing me down this rabbit 🐇 hole 🕳 ya fargon aisehole!!😝😉
I demand you get some of these upgrades yourself and report it to the forum!! -
Took out the main transformer and then the power supply and found one of the screws lying in that slot up under the power supply board🤬
There are eight screws total between this plate and the smaller piece which goes on top of the laser assembly underneath it. I’ve got seven of them in place and I’m not going to push my luck taking anything else apart looking for that last one. So back together she goes!
-
I hope that one screw doesn't take they whole unit down shorting something out.
-
@pitdogg2 So do I. The only other option is to start taking everything apart just to find it and it is a tiny little screw at that. I do not want to wind up bricking a $1200 player that I’ve additionally spent well over half that (as you so eloquently put it in a previous post about the Clones Audio power supplies 😉) to upgrade. JUST TO FIND ONE TINY LITTLE SCREW
