One of my friends in high school would borrow his mothers new red Pinto station wagon 4-5speed & go to a steep hill across from high school & drive half way up hill & roll back & let loose. That Pinto took some abuse

Went with Christi and the boys to Volo Auto Museum in Volo, IL this Christmas break--Warehouses full of chrome sex. If you get to the Chicago area (and this thread tickles your nether regions) you owe it to yourself to hit this place up.

Tom, First room you walk into is full of Duesenberg II's:

    ga1cvoexb098.jpeg

Lots of movie cars, but most of the cars on display are on consignment, for sale. Gets the juices flowing. Don't know if I could pick a favorite, but I made a special trip back to see this one a second time, '62 Corvette.

    jh786pek2b9o.jpeg

Give a scroll here to see some of what's there to see. They've got about everything you'd expect, and plenty that surprises as well.

We had a great half-day--Self-paced, no crowds, can get up close to every car in the joint.

For me, my favorite has to have a personal connection.

1959 Chevrolet is the 1st car that I can remember Dad having back in the day. So when I found this guy, it really brought me home.

Resto modded, every time I think about this baby, now and during the restoration process, I go back in time and recall the wonderful memories as a kid! He's long gone, but thanks Dad! I love you!

I had a 1960 as my 1st car. It's still out there- I spotted it a few years ago
when I was visiting my parents up north. Not my favorite, but still
a car very different from most on the road.
