I have a phone call into the seller now. The cables do not have factory terminations on them and a sticker or tag that identifies them as being demos. I’m wanting to learn more about the providence of these cables before I install them. If they are legitimate factory cables my plan is to get them over to audio quest and have them re-terminated.

If they are not factory cables or if the seller cannot confirm the legitimacy of the cables or refuses to let me send them to audio quest for re-termination then I will be requesting a refund.

I connected them up anyway. They were a pain in the azz to work with. Two sets run together like that made them very stiff. I am not at all ready to say much on them, but I do hear a much larger soundstage and an air around instruments and voices that really makes me think these speakers are approaching the imaging I previously only got from my Magnepan's…

    More to come.

Douglas Connection made by our own @HelipilotDoug. His cables have been in my rig since around the time he opened his doors, and they are superb to say the least. I started using them before I have my tube amps completed, and LONG BEFORE the Pass Labs gear was even a thought.

The big driver for even having me look elsewhere was wanting to see if I was missing anything or leaving micro-details on the cutting room floor. The gear I have is the very first time I have ventured into stuff that I would consider worthy of something more that what Doug provides.

I will say this... anyone even remotely looking at cables to improve their rig needs to CALL DOUG @DouglasConnection. https://www.douglasconnection.com/

His cables offer excellent value and performance that beats most of the cables out there. If you go to BJC, Monoprice, or Kimber's entry to mid level stuff, you owe it to yourself to look into his offerings first.

I did but I instead bought my wife a Tahoe LTZ for Valentine's day this year. With what it would cost for said cables in my rig? I bought her a keeper...and my son loves the DVD player and what seems to be the I-Max head phones (I have heard them....holy chit!) for the back seats.

I hear ya Tom... I feel lucky with these, provided I can get them terminated properly. I essentially have two pair of eight thousand dollar cables for 1450....

Can't afford the electricity, even with solar. In the spring, summer, and fall I need to run the A/C when the amps are on.

I installed a rumble filter from KAB between the Bottlehead phono preamp and the NAD integrated amp. Rumble is GONE and the music sounds fantastic. Thanks for the recommendation @Dawgfish!!

Today it was confirmed that my new cables are indeed two full sets of Audioquest Meteors in a configuration that would have set the original purchaser back about 15k! :oB):o

I am thinking this is overkill by a long shot, so I may send them to Audioquest for re-termination as two sets of ten foot bi-wire cables and selling one of the sets to recover my investment.

They didn’t tell me much. They recommended a power supply and gain stage upgrade. I did everything they recommended and we will see how it pans out. I originally sent it in to have some hiss looked at and mentioned I’d like to get whatever easy upgrades are available and those 2 are what I ended up with. According to Andy it’s pretty much on par with the 1.3 now

Nice Zach. I just got my 1.2 extreme back from getting the exact same mods.

Replaced the older Marantz with this new fella. Older one was shutting down on me when cranked. New one has some pretty cool features and it makes my zone 2 patio rig work flawlessly with the Marantz app. Plus this handles the hdmi mess and just a single AQ Carbon going to the TV
