Is there any speaker out there that can do what an SDA does???

The last I checked, they are good speakers until you get your slimy paws on them and mess them up.

I would have to guess...you people just don't get it... a badly made driver will pop..no matter how many hours you break it in. Break-in time is NOT for a badly made speaker/ driver, it's for a good speaker to get better.
Oh yeah....you are right. I mean....your guitar amd IT experience makes you an expert. Do you feel better now that I petted your ego?
You are some kinda special idiot! Please go away and troll somewhere else.

LMAO.. yeah I would guess you have nothing to say. that's useful. Now before I don't bother with this site.. you should know...
I have had the SDA 1C's since new in 1987. I know completely what they sound like, in different rooms, with different amps. They will play VERY loud.. just because you push them over the 12 position.. does NOT kill them at all.
How many of you people really have a set of SDA1C that you have had since NEW???
How many of you have replaced a driver or anything else??? I have.
I've had these speakers for 28 years.. different room, different amps, I have replaced MW6511 drivers that work perfectly, along with a X over that they would sell you back in the day. These speakers were built to play LOUD... and they do, and have done that for 28 years... till the one driver failed. The junk China junk I got.. was crap. NOW what there are sending me.. may be the same crap.. I don't know.
If these drivers work, are worth a crap... then I may buy 4 just to keep them. My guess.. may be not.
The sad part here... how many of you have had these speakers for 28 years.. your going to tell me what these speakers sound like?? or what I should do with them.
You don't buy the part I got crap drivers from Polk.. suck it up dude... there junk.. I can send you some if you would like to try them out...LMOA If your that stupid.. hell 40 bucks.. I will send these drivers all day long... LMAO

Do you even speak English? Literally, every one of your posts looks like it was originally Cyrillic and then sent through Google Translate.
So true. I don't mind somebody being stubborn, but when so many words are misspelled then it becomes apparent the issue is more than being stubborn.
However, I am curious how the new drivers will work. LOL.

You are correct, it does not kill them all, but given the gear you insist on using it will kill some, and then others. I do not expect you to ever understand this, given the level of comprehension you have shown here... and before you say it's not your gear that is causing the grief, keep in mind that I can replicate a front-row seat at an AC/DC concert on my speakers at sustained insane volume levels and never have a problem.
(comprehension (ˌkɒmprɪˈhɛnʃən)
n
1. the act or capacity of understanding
2. the state of including or comprising something; comprehensiveness
3. (Education) education an exercise consisting of a previously unseen passage of text with related questions, designed to test a student's understanding esp of a foreign language
4. (Logic) logic the attributes implied by a given concept or term; connotation)I've had these speakers for 28 years.. different room, different amps, I have replaced MW6511 drivers that work perfectly, along with a X over that they would sell you back in the day. Never needed to replace a driver in nearly 25 years of experience with these speakers, in multiple series... but if you insist these speakers are meant to play at skull shattering volume, I can see you having nothing but problems. The sad part here... how many of you have had these speakers for 28 years.. your going to tell me what these speakers sound like?? or what I should do with them.
There are a couple things and a few places I could suggest you put them, but that would be somehow uncouth and result in banning.
( un•couth (ʌnˈkuθ)
adj.
1. lacking manners or grace; clumsy; oafish.
2. rude, uncivil, or boorish: uncouth language.

Your grammar is so messed up here, I cannot even make sense of it... You say "pretty much the last statement I have to make on this"... I think everyone would agree that we are tired of hearing anything more from you on this matter, yet you leave open the door for more by using the words "pretty much".
My suggestion for the powers that be at Polk, would be to ban the troll at this point, but who am I to make such a suggestion.Post edited by nooshinjohn onThe Gear... 35 years being a guitarist and all you can produce is that (yawn) tired Video. I should see if my buddy's 18 year old son can post a you tube video of him playing Red House impressive to say the least 5 years into it and the kids awesome, however he's not as knowledgeable as you when it comes to music reproduction, but he had his skills established 2 years after he picked his Guitar up. I can only imagine his playing capabilities with another 30 years under his belt or his knowledge for music reproduction.Home Theater

The kid don't have any videos but he learned from this guy in this local band
Me I have a Yamaha Acoustic and a Beat Up SG that I've had for years play some but for my own entertainment hardly worthy of putting up a you tube video. Neither of us probably don't have any knowledge of any music reproduction such as yourself.. But come on 35 years and your knowledge of music reproduction isn't that good eithier.Home Theater

What about Miss Daisy??? She always had a good driver. And my 1c's....they have good drivers. If I try to get them close to 12 o'clock on my setup my ears begin to bleed and then they fall off. Personally hate when that happens. No popping only way too much clean volume. Yes, they play unenjoyably loud. In an attempt to help with this driver problem... if I live within 200 miles of the op, I would be happy to arrange a road trip to help determine the cause of the bad, popping driver. I would even bring an amp and pre to make sure it is not the equipment. That being said......where are the troublesome SDA's located? Just trying to help.

I gotta admit, trolls like Bobbie boy here are somewhat entertaining. From his typing I am getting a Sling Blade vibe.
It amazes me how stupid some people are. Really and truly does. And usually that amazement comes from the younger crowd of idiots. But this one is old.

Bobt, no commentary on anything you said w/ the exception that Polk was sold. Who now owns them ? A giant holding company like D& M who bought McIntosh, Denon, Boston Acoustics, Marantz and a bunch of other high end audio companies or the Harmon Group which seems to own everything else like JBL,Infifnity,Mark Levinson, H/K, and AKG. Of course there are many companies that are still privately owned of the high end boutique speaker type like AVS, Sonus Farber, Usher, and Legacys among many others.2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E

Well not sure I should even bother to tell you people. But the new China driver does not work. It does the same thing.. POP if you push it too hard. Now I have tried to get the original 1987 driver fixed... nobody will fix it. The replacement drivers I got over 15 years ago... they work 100%... There is no problem with them.
The new drivers are junk... maybe something you do not get....
These speakers used to play really loud in a large room..now due to the crap driver they will not. If you put them in a smaller room, don't come close to the 12 oclock position. .maybe these will work.
Pretty much what Polk put out 15 years ago.... The new drivers are not even close.
If you don't like what I say...LMAO.. have a good day.
The new drivers are junk... so either buy old original drivers or play the speakers in a small room and don't turn them up..............
