I was at that concert. It took place at the Tower Theater on 69th street in Upper Darby, PA. I didn't know there was and LP cut of it. I remember it clearly because I was up in the balcony and it was so loud I had to keep my fingers lightly in my ear. Needless to say my ears rang for a week.

BTW it was a great Bowie performance.

Well I can see that when you and I finally get together we are going to have trunks full of LPs rather than gear to compare.;) :D

The Bach was organasmic. I picked those up from a real serious vinyl guy. Resealable covers, and store the LP's outside the jacket. Like new.

No contest on the LP collection Joe. If you stopped buying, and I picked up one a day, it would take me 8 years to catch up to you.

Great music but they messed up the bass with this remaster. Every song that I have the LP of sounds way way better for bass response.

Grover Washington, Jr. - Then and Now

More of a "traditional" modern jazz groove than much of his work this is, nonetheless, ear candy for sax lovers. Ron Carter and Herbie Hancock provide the extra sauce on "Blues For D.P."

Charlotte Martin - On Your Shore

I've talked about her before. Much in the vein of Tori Amos, Kate Bush, Fiona Apple and touch of Sarah McLachlan. She plays piano and has a very beautiful voice. Well worth checking out.

Singer/songwriter Charlotte Martin got her start singing opera while attending Eastern Illinois University in the late '90s. Her father was a respected professor in the music department, and naturally Martin followed his footsteps. She'd been playing piano since she was a little girl and her childhood was surrounded by music. While attending school, Martin experienced "real life," from living with her goth roommate and dealing with typical college-like drama to the tragic suicides of two close friends. Martin turned to music for solace.

 I'm not sure why I've never picked up this CD before as I've been searching for better recordings. To tell you the truth, I didn't really know who Dire Straights was and didn't realize I knew half the songs alread.

This 2 CD set rocks! Excellent use of dynamics in the music and excellent preservation of them in the recording. A couple of these tracks are going on my next system showoff disk.

This disk made me keep wanting to turn it up for some reason. The bass is so solid, the guitar so clear and dynamic. and the vocals are tremendous. This is another recording that puts me in a state of disbelief of what the RTi70's can sound like.

Funny thing... I got a bunch of CD's that I've seen recommended in this section from the library and apparently requested, "Dub Side of The Moon" the reggae interpretation of Pink Floyd. I didn't listen to it yet...

Soulful Sound of Marvin Gaye - CD - 1998

    http://www.amazon.com/Soulful-Sound-Marvin-Gaye/dp/B00003OP2E/ref=sr_1_1/102-5851192-8839353?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1189109176&sr=1-1

There's a ballad on there that blew me away. "Why Did I Choose You?" sounds like something Bing Crosby would have sang.

    1. Sexual Healing
    2. 'Til Tomorrow
    3. Why Did I Choose You?
    4. I Live for You
    5. Ain't It Funny (How Things Turn Around)
    6. Walkin' in the Rain
    7. Dream of a Lifetime
    8. It's Madness
    9. Just Like
    10. My Love Is Waiting
