Jimmy Smith - Dot Com Blues
2001, Verve, CD
My favorite collaboration album from my favorite B3 player. -
Wax Fang - La La Land
Released November 17th, 2007 on Don't Panic! Records.
Fantastic and extremely talented band from Lousiville, KY. This is definitely for the types who think there isn't any good music being made these days. Found out about this band last November at a My Morning Jacket show here in town.
http://www.myspace.com/waxfang to sample a few tracks...
Their old CD, Black & Endless Night, or their new one, La La Land, would both be equally good to start off with. -
...my conscience screaming write those two papers that are due tomorrow! They're each worth 20% of your grade in those classes!!!

Little Feat - Sailin' Shoes
1972, Warner Bros., CD
"Just give me weed, whites, and wine...."
If memory serves BMDP, this had a better sound with the Waiting for Columbus album....which is actually what I am listening to, AGAIN . I have gotten my throat raw trying to sing along at performance levels to this song. No, I will not provide a U-tube of me singing to it.
I'm listening to the song "Dixie Chicken" right now, so that song won't bee too far away. Crap, who am I foolin'? That's on disc two. I'll catch up to ya' here in an hour or so.....
I think I have that particular LP in my collection so I'll have to give that version a whirl when I have the time. Good tunes man, good tunes!~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
Miles Davis - Freddie Freeloader. Great SDA track - there are instruments coming out of my walls!
-
Albert Collins - Ice Pickin'
MP3 ripped to iPod driving the Dynaco ST-70 and my SDA 2B's in the excercise room
This was my introduction to Albert's groove in 1978. It's timeless, solid blues. -
Giving the Hip Hop & R&B a break for awhile. Listening to Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Weezer, Nirvana, Green Day,Death of the Cool, and Bjork. Expanding my audio base and seeing what else is out there.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

Jimmy D. Lane - Legacy
1998, APO (import), CD
This one has kinda' grown on me. The vocals seemed a bit edgy and arhythmic until I got comfortable with his style. It features the last studio performance by his Dad, blues legend Jimmy Rogers. -
Fleetwood Mac
Rumors -
Bubba the Love Sponge on Sirius.:D

On vinyl! Nitty Gritty up and running, TT up to snuff, dialed in and it sounds absolutely wonderful! You can definitely hear the recording limitations of that era.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? I've seen him in concert a few times but the one that sticks out the most is that the guy and the Mothers performed for 5 hours with just one break. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. LOL! I was exhausted after the concert, imagine what they felt like.
