I've been on a mission to get every recording that Lou Reed and / or the Velvet Underground's made of Sweet Jane.

Magic and Medicine - The Coral
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Cecil Taylor on youtube... I've always loved his stuff, but never seen him play. Humbling.

He's definitely not for everyone - atonal, choppy, fast - mixed with quieter moments.

Albert King w/ SRV - In Session

    333387.jpg

This is Kings show, but SRV adds a lot to the mix. They are truely having a fun laid back session. Neither of them is afraid to take the lead, but at the same time neither is overpowering and it ends up being a great session. One of my (many) faves.

Now on to Katherine Whalen's Jazz Squad. She was one of the vocalists for the Squirrel Nut Zippers. This album is all her, however. Reminds me of a modern day Billie Holiday. Damn she can sing.
